Fergus Electric Cooperative Inc. is an electric cooperative firm that provides services in 12 central Montana counties, including Cascade, Choteau, Fergus, Golden Valley, Judith Basin and Meagher. The cooperative provides electric service to approximately 3,719 members and has more than 4,190 miles of line. It is a part of Touchstone Energy Cooperative. In addition, Fergus Electric Cooperative Inc. sells electrical materials and supplies, advises members on upgrading service lines and underground/overhead, as well as helps with line extensions.
We can install area lighting for members. Security lights may be installed on existing Fergus Electric meter poles or security light pole(s) on the members' property only. Underground trenching for service to security light poles will be provided by the member. Lights must be protected by a 20 amp breaker on the member’s side of the meter. Installation fees will be assessed from the current unit cost sheets.
Fergus Electric offers its membership the opportunity to produce part or all of their own energy requirements by using a renewable form of generation such as a wind turbine, photovoltaic panels or a hydroelectric generator and installing a net metered service.
Lightning can sometimes damage your well pump, sump pump or appliances increasing the running of these devices. If underground wiring-insulation is damaged, an increase in electrical use may occur when the ground is saturated with moisture.
