Jeff and Teri Balow purchased Balow's Hwy 7 Auto Salvage, Inc in December of 1996. Our background started in 1989 with the installation and selling of Hollander Yard Management Systems; the elite of Yard Management Computer systems and Interchange manuals. After discovering what a friendly industry it was, we decided it was time to make the change to getting our hands into the industry.The yard we purchased has been in this prime location for over 10 years. It changed hands many times and finally, has found owners that care about the presentation and appearance and reputation of the yard. Many changes have happened since purchasing the yard. A crusher was purchased to crush cars to make the appearance of the yard, more presentable. The office itself was cleaned and painted, making it a comfortable place to wait while your part is being pulled or boxed. The number of cars that are in the yard at any given time has increased from 300 to over 1000 cars. There are actual walkways, and rows for us to better service the customers. A giant map in the front of the office helps us assist those Saturday afternoon treasure hunters.We started with just Jeff and 1 employee when the yard was purchased. Teri works on Saturdays to assist with bookwork as well as other tasks. We now have 5 employees (picture to be posted soon). They are dedicated, hardworking people, that care about the quality of the job they do, as well as the quality of the parts and service we deliver to our customers.If we don't have the part in stock, we will locate the part within minutes. Try us or come for a visit.We will continue to make improvements, and are very proud that we are helping to make the planet a safer place by recycling. We recycle antifreeze, we utilize the oil we drain from cars to heat our workshop, we have been certified to recycle freon. We hope to continue to grow and service our community.We are a proud member of the Lester Prairie Business Association, and were sponsors of the 1st annual demolition derby last year. We are also Members of the MN Auto Recyclers. Jeff is also a board member of ARM.
