I normally don’t give poor reviews, unless overall service is unusually poor…and this is one of those cases. I needed to purchase a car, and I looked online for good deals. I live about 4 hours from the greater NYC area, but Luxury Haus showed an online price so tempting that I figured it was worth a 4 hour drive to do business with them.

When I arrived, I located the vehicle and to say the least, I was disappointed with its appearance. The online listing had pictures that made the exterior look absolutely flawless. On arrival, the car had two dents on both the left and right side that were easily noticeable and fairly severe scratches on the passenger door and rear bumper. (The scratch on the passenger door went all the way through the paint.) I reviewed the online listing with my phone and realized that the pictures were taken at angles which allowed the glare to all but eliminate the appearance of the dents and scratches. Very shady, but I let it go.

The car listing specifically stated that the car has dynamic cruise control; I would later find out that it does not. I specifically asked the salesman if the car has a CD changer and he said Yes; again, I would later find out that it does not. To discover that the car did not have these advertised options, I would have needed to be as familiar with the car as a previous owner of it. As Luxury Haus correctly assumed that I wouldn’t be an expert on verifying several dozen vehicle options independent of the salesman, they were able to pass some of these optional components off as existing in the car when they in fact did not.

But at the time, satisfied enough with the condition of the car, I sat down to talk about the price of the car, and this is where the shady business practices showed front and center. In addition to the sticker price of the car, they have “standardized” charges of Dealer Options and Dealer Prep. The Dealer Options included nothing but a Skylink installation which they say they are required to install. If you choose to keep it installed, they charge you the full cost of it (about $1300 bucks). If you do not want it installed…they still charge you almost $700 to REMOVE IT. The Dealer Prep charge was for nothing more than to get the car cleaned up for you to drive away with. The cost…OVER $900. (Have you ever heard of a dealership charging a cost above the sticker price to CLEAN THE CAR?? I surely haven’t.) So if you’re keeping score here, Luxury Haus has a standard practice of increasing the cost of the vehicle over $2000, but only AFTER you’ve decided that you’re interested in making the purchase. It would have been just as easy to include these costs in the sticker price, but Luxury Haus very consciously excluded these charges. Classic bait-and-switch.

After all of these extra and abnormal charges, the Luxury Haus price was no better than any other dealer in the NYC area or my home area. But since I was already there, I decided to go ahead and purchase there. (Congrats Luxury Haus, the bait-and-switch was successful.) They took the car to clean it up and I signed all the papers around 1pm. 2pm came and went, so around 3pm I ask when my car will be ready and they assure me that it won’t be much longer. 4pm came and went as did 5pm. At this point, salespeople started packing up to leave for the day and I still don’t have my car. Needless to say, when I did receive my car at about 5:30pm I was quite agitated, mostly because I don’t understand why the $900 Dealer Prep took 4 hours, not to mention the 4 hour drive home that awaited me.

The moral of this story, if you live in the greater NYC area, sure, check Luxury Haus out…because it’s a lot easier to walk away from obvious bait-and-switch tactics when you live locally. If you are not a local buyer, you have been warned.

Beware they will say anything to get you there. Then it's good old fashioned wear you down. They almost had me, told me I was approved with Wells Fargo at 7% let's put a deposit down over the phone so we can take it of the market. Something was off. Next morning, great news Joe got you an even better rate down to 6.25%, lets do this. Something was still off. I never went, good job as I got a letter fromWells Fargo a week later saying I had been declined, seriously illegal stuff. Watch out for john he is a wanna be Jason Belfort.

I really appreciated the attention that Jan from Luxury Haus paid to me and my family. They were kind and friendly and worked hard to have my loan approved with the best possible price. I definitely recommend others to do business there.

I had been looking for a vehicle for almost a year and finally found what I was looking for at Luxury Haus. Their salesperson, Jan, was great and quickly responded to e-mails and telephone calls. I traveled 1.5 hours to visit the dealership and purchased the vehicle that day! The service was fabulous, I love the vehicle, the financing rate was the best around, and I will definitely recommend Luxury Haus!

Today is October 17 2013 and w...

We bought a 2012 BMW 328 from Luxury Haus on September 14 2013. Today is October 17 2013 and we still don't have registration for our vehicle due to missing title. Temporary plates expired 2 weeks ago. We are unable to use the car. Dealer did nothing to resolve the problem. Do yourself a favor and stay away from that place.

This place is not closed, but I wish they were. THIS IS MY EXPIRIENCE, please read THROUGHLY. Be very careful with this place! They may have a decent selection of vehicles with big replica (fake) wheels they install to lure people in...DON'T FALL FOR IT LIKE I DID!!! I recently bought a 2012 X5 with 6K miles and 20" fake M wheels...seemed like a good deal, however, nothing but head aches since. I drove from CT just to check the X5 out. As soon as I get there, Rich my salesman tells me "Oh, this X5 is under deposit" the oldest trick in the book. I then proceed to leave and he's literally pulling my shirt and says "oh wait I talked to Chris the manager and he says we can sell it to you instead", RED FLAG!! Wish I just walked away. Also, watch out for the fine print of rebates, wheels, and dealer fees added on to the internet price (almost $4400+)...such a scam! The X5 had minor cosmetic issues that they promised to fix post delivery, due to "not having the parts" (2 ripped interior panels, fix dent, and replace cracked side view mirror). They also told me out of state registration fees cost more because they overnight everything to my DMV to get my plates FAST...30 days later, still no CT plates, still no replacement parts, and now I'm driving around with expired NJ temp plates. I've called them almost everyday, and Edith the title person has no idea where my plates are "soon, soon" she tells me week after week. An outside company takes care of their registration apps, but she won't give me their name or number...HUH?!? Just when I thought it couldn't get worse. I finally get scheduled to come in for the cosmetic issues. Still no plates however. 2 hours in the shop I get the X5 back. They actually swapped out my damaged panels and side mirror for USED, LESS damage parts off one of an older X5 on the lot. Unbelievable, seeing as those panels are only $35 each from BMW. With an added bonus of the mechanic's oily handprint all over the areas he worked on including my leather seats. I confronted the service manager Ron, (who walks around in flip flops and basketball shorts) about the USED oiled up panels...he tells me "Oh I'll clean it, BUT nowhere in the WE OWE does it say NEW, all we're entitled to do is replace them with what we have" REALLY???, that's why they made me wait a whole month for parts supposedly being "ORDERED"...such BS!!! I demanded to talk the manager Chris that instant, but all of a sudden is office is shut he's so very busy and can't talk to anyone the rest of the day...unbelievable!! In conclusion do your research on this place, and stay away. Find other reviews and see for yourself. Look them up on the NJ Better Business Bureau...Rated an "F". Don't fall for the "positive" reviews, you'll notice that per negative review, follows 2-3 super positive reviews, and never any mediocre ones. Read all the negatives and you'll see a similar trend in people's stories. Read all the positive and they're about "great", "wonderful", "super"...put 2 and 2 together, you can almost see the smoke being blown!!! I ended up ordering new panels myself, and now dealing with the phone tag games with Ron to try and get my dent taken care of. I'm sooooo ready to be done with this HACK of a dealership!!!!!!!! Oh by the way, I'm in the process of filing a claim with BBB. Thanks for the stress Luxury Haus!

Go to Better Business Bureau New Jersey online before you visit this dealership; they have an F rating based on unresolved customer complaints. Based on internet add I drove from MA to New Jersey and I bought a car on 3.23.13 and five weeks later still didn't have the paperwork I needed to register it. During those five weeks they promised to call me back with updates and only called me once, I had to call over 20 times. They "bought" the car back on 4.25.13 - PROBLEM I RETURNED THE CAR and even though I have a written contract for it, THEY NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH OVERNIGHT PAYMENT OF $25,501.6 and no surprise they won't respond to calls, texts or emails. I've had to file a complaint with the ATTORNEY GENERAL AND HIRE AN ATTORNEY. Could some of the positive reviews be written by a buyer who had a good experience and not a Luxury Haus employee, maybe. But if you visit this dealer, you could be me!!!! Consider the risk.
