Nothing but frustration and disappointment. I was in the unfortunate situation of needing to make a same day dental appt on a Friday after I had a chipped tooth needing repair. My regular dentist is closed on Fridays and Dr. Brown had same day availability so I scheduled for that afternoon. Unfortunately I would soon find out why she had availability.
Long story short, my right front tooth was chipped and needed repair. I have had this repair done multiple times as the original chip occurred in fifth grade. Dr. Brown surmised that the "only option" was to make the chipped tooth noticeably shorter than the other front tooth. This was upsetting because I rather liked my smile and had spent considerable money on braces to make it this way. I voiced my concern but was again told that was "the best we can do" so I believed that was the case trusting a "professional." I left frustrated and overcharged. I was told to pay $135 and did so at that time July 31.
I have since gone to my regular dental office for a previously scheduled cleaning/checkup, upon going and seeing my dentist she was puzzled as to why the job was done in that manner. I explained the situation how I was informed that was the best option and she immediately disagreed. She asked where I went for the procedure and she wanted to book an appointment to fix it properly and has since done so and it is back to being perfect! While trying to get this sorted out I have spoken with my insurance company and was informed that they took care of all but $27 of the repair initially meaning I was overcharged by $108! Not only was I given substandard care, but overcharged to do it!
I called Dr. Brown explaining the circumstances and that I wanted a FULL refund and chargeback to the insurance since her substandard work had to be redone properly at a different office. She agreed to send me back the amount that was overcharged since I called to check on it, otherwise who knows how long they were planning on holding onto it, nearly three months so far! Unfortunately for the rest of the billing, she explained that she is "standing behind her work." There would be no refund and she was satisfied with the work she performed. This either means that she is not able to perform the procedure any better or just simply does not care about the aesthetics of her patients. In either case I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Brown to friends or anyone for that matter. There are plenty of better dentists out there, and I would be glad to recommend some great ones if you would like to contact me.
I Ended up with a root canal after their dental work failed. I went to a gentle dental after a recommendation from friend. They seemed nice but nice doesn't make them good. I had a crack tooth I had been waiting to fill (while it wasn't bothering me) I decided to get it fixed at Gentle Dental. I should've know it was a bad idea when they said they were going to charge me about $165 for laughing gas because it wasn't covered by insurance. Less then three months later, I started having extreme tooth pain around the area they fixed. By that time my insurance had changed, when I called Gentle Dental I found out they didn't take my new insurance and didn't seem to want to fix their damage or care I was in pain from their terrible dental work. It was a blessing because I found a great dentist down the road from Gentle Dental who got me in right away, only to find out that I now needed a Root Canal because Gentle Dentals work wasn't done correctly! My tooth is now fixed and feels great! And by the way they only charged me $35 dollars for laughing gas. I wouldn't wish the pain I went through with them on my worst enemy or recommend Gentle Dental to anyone.
