I agree with JW about the "buddy network" - on the building supply side. On the plumbing side however, the guys are always very knowledgeable and have a great selection. The prices are always competitive as well. In the end, it's still the best place in GC to get building supplies unless it's something that they have at Handy Mans!

I used to go there several times a month, but have now stopped. It seems some of their employee's integrity is based on the buddy system. 4 times in three weeks they sold me items that they did not have in actuality. They then asked if I would settle for less expensive items that were very much of less quality. If they don't know you, the gentlemen at the counter tent to be(stand-offish), while simultaneously treating you like your waisting their time(I actually had to stand in front of the counter for 5 minutes after a gentlemen in front of me completed his transaction because they were engaged in a conversation about raccoon hunting), when the patron saw me, he ended the conversation, then the clerk glared at me, and proceeded to rush thru my transaction as fast as he could(this has happened on multiple occasions). When he finish printing the receipt, he tossed it on the counter and walked off. I'm all for the small town community mentality, but unless you have the right last name in this small town you won't get polite and prompt service from this establishment. Having written this I am compelled to give a modicum of gratitude to the loaders that work in the lumber yard... each time they sold me nonexistent items the gentlemen in the yard did their utmost best to remedy the situation. Maybe it's they, that should be working behind the counter. I would NOT recommend this establishment to others.
