What's the best way to start? We recommend that you and your child visit us before he or she reaches 1 year old for a comprehensive exam with one of our trained dental assistants and Dr. John or Dr. Kate.

Teeth Cleaning
Your 30-minute visit will begin as we gather pertinent information about your child's development, social, physical and dental histories in order to identify possible risk factors for dental disease. Next, we'll do some hands-on coaching for proper tooth cleaning. Then one of our doctors will do a knee-to-knee exam, with your child on your lap, leaning backward for good visibility. We'll assess tooth and skeletal development, airway adequacy, any abnormality caused by tongue, lip, thumb, finger, pacifier habits, and any early signs of enamel deficiency.

Dr. Kate Schacherl received her CEREC© training at the Scottsdale (AZ) Center for Dentistry, and her training in dental implants with Dr. Arun K. Garg, in Chicago and the Dominican Republic. She is certified in the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique®, the minimally invasive scalpel and suture-free procedure for treating gum recession and has lectured on this topic to doctors around the globe.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
The Non-Removable Implant Denture procedure begins with a consultation appointment. At your appointment, we'll explain the procedure and answer your questions to help determine if Non-Removable Implant Dentures are right for you. If Non-Removable Implant Dentures are a good option for you, we'll have you back to the office for a follow-up appointment, where we'll present an individualized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. We'll also let you know about cost and payment options. The Non-Removable Implant Denture procedure involves several steps. First, we'll work with you to schedule the appointments required to fabricate the temporary, non-removable denture that will be inserted the day of your oral surgery. Next comes your oral surgery. During surgery, any remaining teeth are extracted. This is usually done under some form of sedation, so the patient is completely comfortable. Dental implants are placed, and your temporary non-removable denture is inserted. After a healing period of 3-6 months, we begin the process of fabricating the finished, non-removable denture. This process involves a series of appointments and typically takes three months to complete. Finally, we'll insert your permanent, non-removable denture, restoring your beautiful smile.
