I see these awful reviews and they must be going somewhere else. I have shopped here for many years and the nice lady behind the counter is always so pleasant. Their batteries are inexpensive and last for years.

The woman behind the counter could not have been more friendly or more helpful. We talked about the awful weather. We discussed dogs and how awesome they are because she admired my rescue tee shirt. I had the batteries changed in three watches in under 15 minutes and the charge was only $28.00. It doesn't get any better than this.

We had just moved to the area and I had this business set up our grandfather clock that had been given to us by my in-laws. The gentleman came to my home and was very professional and informative. I will definitely call this business again in the future.

They've never even done business for me, but I had two negative experiences with this store. The first time I went in for a standard clock movement mechanism. The lady wouldn't sell it to me unless I brought the clock in and let them change it out. So I bought it from JoAnn's instead. Today I have an old clock that my grandmother embroidered the face and my grandfather did a custom job assembling it. I took the hands/mechanism apart and again visited this shop to look for an older style motion mechanism. This time I was told by the same lady that they they didn't have a part to replace my mechanism, and they couldn't order anything, either, so I should bring my clock in so they can look at it and figure out how "to make it work". uh, NO. Ironically, this morning I found a YouTube video with a guy taking apart a clock similar to mine, explaining how to measure an older motion mechanism and find the correct replacement on his website. Guess who got my business? It seems like this store either wants to pad the bill by insisting on doing the work themselves or else they don't realize how easy it is for people to make minor repairs themselves thanks to the internet. I wish I could give them my business, but I don't think they really want it.

Overall

I just came here to pull up a number for this business and saw the reviews so I think I'll weigh in here. I first visited this place a couple of years ago to replace my watch that broke. I was waited on by the same female employee others are complaining about and at the time even though there was no one else in the store, she was pretty irritable and very hard to talk to. I do ask a lot of questions before buying anything but I'm always super-polite and friendly to everyone and I was pretty taken aback by how irate she was, almost to the point of making the whole experience very uncomfortable, so much so that I decided to leave and not to buy anything.

I would have stayed away altogether but I've dealt with far worse and am very thick-skinned so I went back a few more times and she didn't seem that bad then. You do have to be extremely pleasant and polite when talking to her and not take it personally or get hurt feelings by the way she talks because honestly, I don't think she's rude so much as probably just not much of a people person. I just got off the phone with her now and she was okay; however, I can totally understand why others think she is rude because she does have a VERY brusque and no-nonsense demeanor and seems to have no patience if you're someone who likes to ask questions or shop around in the store a bit before buying. IMO it's not enough of a reason for me never to do business with them again, but be warned: if you're looking for warm, friendly, cuddly customer service, this is definitely not the place for you.

i have brought my watches ther...

i have brought my watches there for years for batteries, bands and repair. My experience has always been great. After reading the other reviews I wonder if they are reviewing the same store. Sometimes, I think, peoples' expectations are ridiculous. The lady has always been honest and educational. She has never "up sold" me on anything, very honest. They may be a little slow for what "I" want but I also understand that I am not the only customer. I experience has been Five Stars.
