UPDATE: I received a call back from the owner extremely quickly and she was so incredibly nice and understanding. She agreed to give me a full refund and promised to have some conversations about this situation with her staff. She wanted to make sure I knew that this was not a typical experience (I used to go to this salon all the time and had always had great experiences up until this point) and that she wants to make sure I feel like I can come back. I changed my review from 1 star to 3 stars. This used to be a nice salon. Their entire staff quit and I left before the only girl who works there (who's brand new) could finish my cut because she was hacking my hair off in uneven chunks, was nearly sitting on the floor to cut the bottom of my hair instead of just raising the chair (which she did after I reminded her that was possible) and the 2 girls just hanging out at the front desk left this girl alone with me because "they'd been there all day" which was actually only since 10 a.m. and it was now 2 p.m. I had to go to another stylist to fix my hair. Save yourself the emotional trauma.
Smelled like weed, used the "N" word a lot without concern for the customers. Need to be raided and or inspected.
I had the worst haircut of my life with Lauren at Phazes salon in Layton, UT. I told her I was growing out my hair and just wanted to add some layers so it wasn't so bottom heavy. Lauren ending up cutting the top half of my hair at eye level and left the bottom half of my hair right above my shoulders. It looked like a mullet. The receptionist told me Lauren was their most experienced stylist, but clearly not. This haircut would not have looked good on anyone. I went home and cried. I had to go to another stylist at a different salon to fix it. The stylist that fixed my hair said she thought I was exaggerating about it looking like a mullet until she saw it. She also told me it looked like Lauren pulled the top half of my hair forward and cut it to the same length as my side swept bangs on accident. This "layers" were not even blended, it was just a jagged disconnect of short hair at my eyes that looked like a bowl cut on top and the long hair all one length right above my shoulders. It is going to take me 6 months to just grow my hair back to where it was before Lauren did this to me. I don't understand what she was even thinking or trying to achieve by cutting my hair in that way. The stylist that fixed my hair had to cut it up to my chin to blend it and fix it. I've had bad haircuts before, but never any so bad that I cried. I cannot say enough bad things about this salon and stylist. I could even tell from the owner's face and the receptionist's face that I looked terrible when I left.
Dawn is experienced and offers great service and prices. My hairdresser retired so I called around and found Dawn. She took me in and has done a great job with my color and cut.
I had an awful experience with this salon. I had booked a trial run for my wedding both hair and makeup. The day before my scheduled appointment I got a call from the owner Krista telling me the makeup artist had a family emergency and we would need to reschedule. We rescheduled for 3/30 and on 3/29 I got a call from the salon again telling me there was an issue and that the airbrush machine was broken. They said I could still come in for the trial run custom blend foundation. On the day i went in for my trial run, I was met with Emma who did my hair. The end result was awful, she put so much product in it that it looked wet and heavily weighed down. She told me we could fix this on my wedding day and then passed me off to the makeup artist Korlee. Korlee "custom" blended a foundation color that was 3 shades too dark for my very fair skin. I also have deep hollow set dark circles and i stressed how much I wanted these hidden. She didn't even attempt to conceal them or color correct. The end result of my makeup trial run left me with deep dark brown circles, a very tan face, and different colored eye shadows and blushes. She suggested I go wash off my face before leaving. Upon payment for services they tried charging me full special occasion pricing of $90, which when I scheduled the appointment Krista told me it would only be $40. Now, if you want clients to pay full price for a trial run then I better be able to walk out of the building looking like I could go to a special occasion. The other incident that happens is the makeup artist told me the airbrush machine would be fixed by 4/11 and that she would call me to come back in and test the colors. I never received a call. I called today 4/20 to see what is going on because my wedding is 9 days away and they tell me the airbush machine has broken again. Luckily I have secured a much more reliable hair and makeup artist for my wedding. Save yourself the worry and hassle and go to another salon.
I got ridiculously butchered here. They refuse to do the only thing that will fix it, or to even refund. Everyone here is so fake with their sorries and "oh it's cute!" Will never go here again. Charlene specifically. She was a trusted stylist for over a dozen visits, and she won't make it right either. Long term customers get dismissed in favor of their stringent and ridiculous policies against refunds. If you want the whole story - check out my google review.
This is the most diversified salon I have ever been to! Everyone is very professional and very friendly! From hair, to makeup, to cleansing facials, and a favorite of mine, lash extensions! Monica Vargas works miracles with her talent of adding lashes to people like myself who weren't given naturally long and full lashes! Truly a talented individual ! She also does permanent makeup for your eyebrows, and eyeliner for people like myself once again that do not have the natural talent of applying eyeliner etc! Thanks Monica! You made me feel beautiful!
I have be going to Salon & Spa Fifth Avenue for over 6 years now. I found them by accident and haven't turned back since. I have my hair cut, colored, & styled by Krista regularly. Salon & Spa offer so many different things and I've had the opportunity to try and experience almost everyone of them. Alicia gives an amazing facial! Very knowledgeable of products she uses & recommends. My favorite, the raindrop therapy facial! Alicia also does nails, pedis, manis, makeup lessons/consults, & permanent makeup. Monica... I meet with her about every 3-4 weeks for a Lash extension fill. Monica uses the best products and excellent technique. I've had no issues, ever!!! Monica also did my permanent makeup on my eyebrows. With my lashes and eyebrows it's taken 15 mins off of my morning! I could be having the worse day ever & leave feeling beautiful and knowing they cared to help me feel that way! They are all so very special! Thank you Salon & Spa Fifth Avenue!
Had been getting eyelashes done for a year elsewhere, my gal had a baby so took time else. My husband bought me a 200 dollars gift card to get them done here at phazes, she lady glued my eye shut , hit me in head with tweezers, glued all the lashes to my EYE LID so when I blinked they'd stab me in the eye and the glue all over eyelid would stab and pull cause nothing was glued on the eye lash!!!Took 2 and a half hours of my time but only spent an hour of it working. The other time she spent not sure what she was doing over my face and leaving the room to get "supplies".Cost 120 and not only painfully and poolry done she missed allllll eyelashes in the inner corner eye and the outter corners and alllll lashes in between I seriously bet only 50 lashes put on both eyes together added up and all of then glued to thebeye lid.I called after leaving to embarrassed to tell the girl Raigan how bad she was. Met the manger who was RUDE belittled me called it " natural " said shed charge 25 to have to girl make them "more full" and it had to be the same girl who glued my eye shut and glued them all to my eyelids in nasty clumps.Finney got manger to look at them an hour on the phone of her being rude as crap. Meet her in person and the other women who used to do then and before the lady opened her mouth the manager with shorter brown hair who I had been talking with oh yeah very natural look everyone s getting them like that. And then lady who used to do them named Nicol said yeah, they're all glued to her eye lid , they look like what they should after having them at three weeks needing a fill. They're all on her skin...So then the manger goes 50 I'll give to your account . though it cost me 120 and pain and glued my eyes shut.So I come in again and every damn person is super snobby the women who helped me with verify ing yeah they're glued to your eye, was rude and the staff just acts towards me like I was the problem and trashy and my money wasn't good there. I've never been so up set going to somewhere and asking them to fix their mistake and for them to tell me no you have our product on you can give your money back though I have to have it all professionly removed by somewhere else cause they don't have time.Said I had the "product" on so they cant reimbursement or give another service , they have back their 45 lashes and lb glue and the bill to get them removed.SooOooooooo rude . they're not professional. And will not fix their mistake and will charge you to get them "fixed" and only by the Peron who messed it up even if underquailfed and glues your eye shut but will charge you double to have someone else do. Oooooooo upset will never go back bought 123 in flipping lip gloss so i dont have to go back ever again do to the gift card non refundable . and only that amount cause I had " their products " on my " eyes " more like in!!! Paid 200 so their" stylist " and manager and employee to be looked down on talked snotty and rude to.
Thank you so much for getting me in on short notice. I love my new color and style
