I have found the most wonderful Gynecologist and caring office staff at Preferred Women's Healthcare in Lawrenceville, GA. Dr. Arona is knowledgeable, helpful, up-to-date on the latest GYN issues, and has a wonderful personality. She treats you like a friend and wants to help you to be healthy and happy. I found her by luck, after trying many Gynecologists over the years, which treated me like just a number.
She asks questions and helps to find an appropriate resolution to problems or concerns without sounding condescending. And she lets you ask questions and she answers them!
Her staff is amazing, also. They are always smiling, helpful, kind and willing to go the extra mile for patients! If I could clone them and put them in every doctor's office I need to go to, I certainly would. They truly care and value their patients! I strongly recommend Dr. Arona and her staff to anyone looking for an amazing doctor and an amazing staff.

Stay FAR FAR AWAY! I have been a patient for many years until I had a super bad experience on a Tues with their PA when I had an issue and was told to "Go home and Google it", Seriously? Was in severe pain and tried to call office all day Wed to the tune of a busy signal. After getting someone finally on the phone they called in an antibiotic (not helpful in the situation I had) so by Sunday I was rushed to the ER and had to have surgery! The nurses at the hospital who checked me in were horrified as my condition was very common and could have been treated in office and the ER doctor told me in no uncertain terms that my condition was the worst she had seen and to NEVER go back to this OB/GYN! I am so upset I can't even tell you...

WOW in all Caps!! Ladies Listen, I just had an appointment today and made it my duty to come straight home and write a review. I made an appointment a couple of weeks ago, printed out the patient forms, and in I went. I sat in the waiting room for less than 5 minutes and was greeted so nice by ALL staff members. This is VERY important to me as I'm a Nurse and manner's matter. I saw Dr. Dickerson and was amazed how well everything went. Very gentle person who sat and actually listened to what I had to say, DID NOT rush me as I spoke long and hard about my past experience and my concerns. The 1st thing he said when he walked in the door was. "I believe WE can help you"....... I was so nervous as it had been over a year since being seen by anyone I trusted. Having past OB issues, not to mention High Risk! This was my 1st time going and I will for sure reschedule again! This place ranks more than a 5 in my book. I hope and Pray this helps someone else :)

Stay away. Far far away. I had a bad experience here on numerous occasions and finally decided I had enough! Dr. Hart has no bedside manner or compassion. Nor will she take the time to explain things to you if asked twice. She gave me the wrong diagnosis and nearly scared me to death. I left the office confused and in tears and basically did all the research myself on the subject online. She was very delayed in calling me back with some results I was waiting on. After I complained to an office manager, another doctor called me and explained that she didn't agree with Dr.Hart's findings. I was thankful to the other doctor but confused and angry with why I was told the wrong information.



In addition, wait times are pretty long, they bill you in the office before they even mail the bill to you, and I overheard that they lost another patient's file... causing her to wait for a longer time than usual. I personally do not like the L&D at Gwinnett Hospital. But that's a different story... Gwinnett Hospital needs its own 2 star review.

My first visit was awesome, quick, and I was very impressed. However, every time I needed to speak to a doctor/nurse after that, I felt like I was getting the run around. All I needed was for a doctor to call in a refill for my birth control and it was like pulling teeth. Good for original visit, beware if you need to be seen here on a regular basis. People are nice and they will get you in and out...IF they will even return your call.

Everyone there I met was extremely nice from the front desk to the techs, nurses, and doctors. I was greeted with a warm smile when I walked in, and a warm goodbye when I left.

I was very nervous for my first appointment and left feeling great about everything and felt like Julie gave me all the information I needed to put me at ease.

HIGHLY recommend to all women!

I have been a client for many years. Called today to get an order for a routine mamogram. Was told that they would not send the order because I had not been seen in the past year. I have had no reason to visit in the past year. At my age (55) and history (no prior abnormal pap smears) there was no reason for me go. It's all about the money for them. Find someone else.

The place is OK but there can be problems, especially if you need to have a lot of appointments. Over the course of the past 4 years some of the problems I've experienced are: difficulty getting a return phone call from some of the physician's assistants, at least one time I had a wait for more than an hour in the waiting room, not receiving notification about an abnormal pap test until 6 months after the fact, and being sent to a collection agency for 1 bad check that was written by mistake. The check was sent to pay for excess billing that we received from them right after the birth of our child. My husband accidentally sent an old check from a recently closed bank account. As soon as we realized the mistake, we called Pref Women's within 5 days of the check being sent. We were told there was nothing that could be done and were going to be sent to a collection agency immediately. Even though we immediately paid the collection agency almost twice the amount of the bad check, we still received numerous bills from Preferred Women's on a monthly basis for a balance that was less than $150. So our credit rating was damaged and we were penalized by having to pay extra money to the collection agency. Sending a good, long time patient that you just made thousands of dollars off of to a collection agency for one payment mistake is NOT good business practice in my opinion.



I don't like their billing practices and I sometimes felt that the some of the doctor's were searching for additional reasons (i.e. - unnecessary tests) to bill my insurance company. My husband pays a lot for our insurance and I expect better treatment from our physicians.



I came to this site to search for another OB GYN in my area to switch to and decided to write this review. They do have a courteous staff and fairly good doctors so if you only have to go once per year you probably won't have a problem with Preferred Women's.

Appointments may take long to get depending on your health issue but not longer than the same issues at other doctor's office. I've never waited in the office any longer than other offices, my last appointment was less than 45 minutes. Dr. These doctor's deal with pregnant women and babies have no time table. Dickerson is worth the wait.

Takes too long to get an appointment. Expect to be in the office for at least 3 hrs or more.
