I rented a car for my friend over the holidays and something TOLD me not to rent from them b/c they charge fees for every little thing!! My friend returned the car on a Saturday night and I expected them to check the car in on Monday.
The lady from Thrifty called to say she was giving me a ""courtesy"" call to inform me the car suddenly appeared in front of their door on TUESDAY and they claimed that the tank was left on empty, so they would be charging me extra charges for 2 additional days and $100 for gas. I know for a fact that my friend returned the car on Saturday night, because she was asking me to come pick her up later that night take her out somewhere!!! And she was trying to get a ride to her job on Sunday and Monday!! My friend told me she didn't have enough $ to fill the tank up so she put a 1/2 tank of gas in the car right before she returned it.
So they are liars! When I told the lady that they will never get business with them because they are scammers she hung up on me. When I called back asking to speak with her, she claimed she was being ""nice"" to me and I was lying to her about when the car was returned. Why would I wait 2 extra days to return a car knowing I would be charged for additional days?? And want to be charged $100 for a tank of gas for a PT Cruiser??
It sounds like they failed to check it in when they were supposed to and one of their workers took the car overnight for a joyride!!
if you're flying into Atlanta, and are travelling in the Lawrenceville, Georgia area, just rent your car from the rental place at the Airport!!

Trust me frends, thrifty is the worst rental service I have ever seen. They all are a bunch of liars who tell u something while giving a car...and charge something else when its returned.
Please do not go with them if you don't want to be looted.
Their customer service is also very poor. My car broke down, a CSR answered after trying 5-6 times. Asked my car model and hung up.
Did you ever see paying 200$ for one day rental...thats what thrifty is . they make money through lies.

the employees were very friendly and helpful. they did not have the car i reserved, but were very kind and understanding to my needs. they did however find me an automobile that was suitable to my needs and worked out perfectly. My family vacation was a success.
