I was at the Lawrenceville store over the weekend (8/2/14) and purchased a boxer-lab puppy. I took the puppy to the vet the following Monday for a routine check up, just to make sure she was healthy. I found out that not only is she NOT a boxer-lab, she acted as though she was starved, very dehydrated (white gums), and high aggressive towards people (mostly women). She would attack me (not in the normal puppy manner) and drawl blood every night while I was trying to take care of her. Our vet reccommended that we return the puppy due to the aggression and how it will progressively get worse as she grows. He was apauled that Pets Plus would allow this puppy to be sold in general. I'm not critizing the puppy, it's not her fault (our vet said it's probably from inbreeding), but Pets Plus employees didn't even bother to ask if I had children before letting me take home a puppy that now shows her teeth and lunges. She is most likely the product of a Lancaster puppy mill (even though our paperwork has a FAKE kennel name in WV). I will never go back to the horrid place. My heart breaks for the animals that have to sit in those cages for months on end and go stir crazy. I would reccommend adoption for anyone looking for an animal. Afterall, that's where the puppies go after they get shuffled around from store to store and can't find a home.
This is one of the best stores in the area. I recently bought a puppy and needed a place to get her groomed. They offer affordable grooming services, and their inventory has a great selection. I try to keep my pup eating healthy, so the organic foods are perfect. They have competitive pricing, great staff, and a nice atmosphere for a pet store. I love their selection of fish!
I walked into the store for the first time two days ago. I had heard about their supply of fish and wanted to check it out for myself. I had a very nice experience, and was helped by an extremely knowledgeable employee. He helped me pick out a beautiful fish that was within my price range. I immediately fell in love with him, and can’t stop staring at my fish tank—he’s the 4th fish I have. I also have a dog, and was able to stock up on the VeRUS brand, as the shelves were completely stocked. I noticed their grooming salon and would love to have them groom my dog at some point. With its convenient location on my way home from work, I will definitely be stopping in again to browse their fish.
Helping customers seems to be the number 1 priority at this Pets Plus location. Usually employees just ring you up and get you through the door, but their employees took the time to answer my question. I would recommend going here for new pet owners because their employees have experience and knowledge.
I would say that the Pets Plus store in Lawrenceville provides the best customer service. The cashier greeted me as soon as I walked in and the workers helped me with all of my questions. I traveled all the way from Bensalem, Pa., because I heard that they were the best, and I don't like travailing for too many places. I finally found a place I can rely on!
I purchased a Dog (Terrier) from here a few years back. All of these years later he is very healthy, and I have nothing to complain about looking back on the experience when I purchased my dog. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service I received here, and I have been going back ever since, wouldn’t change purchasing my Terrier from Pets Plus for anything in the world.
