Raintree was a very special home for many years for my daughters, and we could not have asked for better care or nicer people.

Love this school! All 3 of my children attend here, and there is no one better to help raise my kids with. They are loving, nurturing and absolutely dedicated to all the kids.

This school doesn't have it all together. Administration is lacking communication. Teachers aren't always aware of their students and aren't willing to work around a child's needs.

Various instances haves made me realize how this school just cares about profit and making money.

Really wanted to give this school a chance.

Raintree is a haven for children and

Raintree is a haven for children and their families. The staff are very educated, compassionate and always eager to help. The head of the school is one of those, very rare, people who is always striving to make a difference. When you enter Raintree - you are part of a family.

@Gracefully Patrician: Wow, I'm really

@Gracefully Patrician: Wow, I'm really sorry for the bad experiences you & your friends have had! My son just finished primary and his teacher was AMI certified. She was great & my son is confident & well-rounded. Also his older siblings have very fond memories of their AMI & AMS certified teachers. Don't be afraid to talk with the staff about your food, diversity, & policy concerns because they are very personable. The great thing about an intimate private school is that the staff is more willing to work with you if any changes need to be made. Show the staff some love & respect. Let them know that they have your support. Do what's best for your children!!!!!!!

Maria Montessori is spinning in her grave

Even though they won't admit it, this school caters to special needs Caucasian children and their families. Shamefully not all teachers are certified in Montessori and only one has training in Special Education. The terrible food is prepared by a severely overweight person who obviously has no training or certification in the dietary needs of children. He plans the menu like a weed-smoker: heavy plates loaded with cheese constantly...YUCK! I bet the children & staff throw it away by the truckload! I feel so sorry for the teachers: they are overworked, underpaid and look so exhausted whenever I see them. Teaching assistants quit every year and are replaced by people who don't care to invest in the 3-year program. I have heard horrible things around town about teachers who lose assistants ever year, so it's not entirely fault of the assistant who quits! OMG...don't get me started on the summer absolute waste of money and time. Many of us pulled out our children early this past summer and will NOT return! One thing about this small town is that people ""talk,"" there are no secrets.

I hope that the directors learn to love their staff and respect the parents who support Montessori; over the years we've tried to organize but the directors act like they fear us parents. And PLEASE HIRE MORE MALES AND PEOPLE OF COLOR TO WORK WITH THE CHILDREN! Montessori is global and the staff needs to reflect that. The tours and application process are worthless because they take anyone who can pay, for the directors do not consider whether or not the child is ready for school or if the parents know anything about Montessori. Please Raintree, you have the potential to get better. Montessori schools are popping up all over Lawrence so your competition is stiff. Offer scholarships and other financial assistance like a respectable private school should so that you attract the best and brightest to balance out the families with disorders. Love your staff and respect you parents! We love and support the Montessori method, please stop trying to destroy it!
