CCC-ALicensed Audiologist and Hearing Instrument Dispenser Audiologic Tests We Offer: *Audiometric Testing *Auditory Brainstem Response *Otoacoustic Emission (OAE) Test *Electronystagmography We offer comprehensive Audiology and Hearing Aid services in the setting of an Ear, Nose, and Throat clinic. Our audiologists work closely with our physicians to provide the best care for patients, including evaluation and treatment of dizzy patients and patients with tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Our audiologists offer a selection of hearing aids and custom earpieces, including for noise, water, musicians, and electronic devices. Lawrence Otolaryngology opened its doors in 1984. We are located at the corner of 6th and Maine, a few blocks south of Lawrence Memorial Hospital. LOA is also the home of the Kansas Voice Center. We have two satellite locations in Topeka and Ottawa. Not all hearing aids are the same, because not all people are the same. That's why we work with several hearing aid manufacturers. We offer Phonak, Oticon, Unitron and Rexton products. We service GN Resound and Sonic products. Following an evaluation, we counsel patients on what would be best suited to their needs, while still considering the concerns of the patient. Services/Products

Hearing Aids We work with several different hearing aid manufacturers, in order to better serve you. Some of our preferred brands are Phonak, Oticon, Rexton and Unitron. The majority of our hearing aids are fully digital, and come in several different sizes: *Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC) *In-the-Ear (ITE) *Behind-the-Ear (BTE) *Receiver-in-the-Canal (RIC) The appropriate style varies; speak to one of our audiologists. If you have hearing loss in both ears, and the clarity of your hearing is good, you should be wearing two aids. When sounds are only amplified in one ear, it is difficult to determine the direction of sounds. Additionally, there is evidence that having two good ears can be helpful in a background of noise. Hearing aids are getting smarter and smarter. They can decide which sounds are soft and which are loud and amplify accordingly. Some are also able to recognize what is speech, and what is noise, and only amplify speech sounds. Hearing aids can be equipped with a directional microphone system - the wearer can either hear sounds from all directions, or, with the push of a button, hear only sounds from in front. Repairs We do minor in-office repairs on our hearing aids. If needed, we can send the aid to the manufacturer for repair. Trial Period All new hearing aids are fit on a 30-day trial. If you are not satisfied after 30 days, you can trade the aid in for another type, or receive a refund, less our standard fitting fee.
