For the most part the place was inviting except for the dentist and her assistant! Neither one introduced themselves to me or my child and then the dentist didn't even explain what work my child needed leaving her rude assistant to explain. Only to be told they wouldn't do anything unless my son was put to sleep at a surgery center! Claiming he was too hard to work on. He didn't cry didn't scream didn't fight it just took him less than a minute to get comfortable enough to sit. I would expect more from a childrens dentist! I would never recommend this place!
I have a 3 year old and I have to say my son is not very good when it comes to letting him get touched by doctors or get checked well it was his 1st time and I was very happy with the place the staff was really nice and professional and Dr Laurie was very nice and sweet my son felt very comfortable didn't cry once I would definitely recommend Just For Kids it's fast and Fun environment !!!!

Dr. Abrams has had many accolades from what I have read and reviewed. However, she must consider who she hires to hold down the fort while she is away. She must realize that having someone fairly fresh out of dental school (even though she was focused and motivated to complete her schooling) can meet challenging situations when dealing with very young children (3 year-olds, to be specific). I am sure she has good intentions to help develop dedicated graduates, but I feel that she should have more experienced staff on hand to handle children of this age. Maybe she should have her staff first work with adults to gain experience of filling cavities so they are able to deftly perform cavity filling on children without issue. Please be aware of that when visiting this dentist. It would be wise to wait until your child is older to handle such operations. My 3 year old did not do well, he now has antibiotics to deal with an infected cut on his lip from a failed cavity filling.

First let me say that Dr. Abrams office is clean and the staff is generally friendly. The location is easy to find and Dr. Abrams is relatively approachable. My concerns are more geared toward the actual work that needs to be done. I have multiple children and for the last year or two I have noticed a trend at this dental office--every one of my children has been told that they need at least one crown and subsequent spacer placement. Coincidentally, crown placement is one of the most expensive and reimbursable items on my insurance plan--and the fact that the spacers will eventually have to come out guarantees at least one more dental visit. On a second opinion from another dentist I was told that crown placement was absolutely overkill. I am not a dentist nor do I claim to be one, but I am a Doubting Thomas when it comes to dentists and their work. Dentists, like auto mechanics, are a type of profession where you can easily generate your own revenue. What may be a cavity to one dentist my be a clean tooth to another (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I remember as a kid with multiple brothers and sisters we never required multiple crowns and spacers and our teeth seemed to turn out alright. My point is not to bash Dr. Abrams. It is to make you the reader more aware that a second opinion for major dental work for your child is a very good idea!

Dr. Laurie is the sweetest, smartest dentist I've ever met. The assistants she has are really good! After my child had his teeth checked, she explained thoroughly the treatment he needed and then had an assistant go over everything with me in MORE detail, answering all my questions making sure everything was so clear! I love that their fillings are only white so it looks like it never happened!
The checkout girl was so thorough also, she gave me an estimate for the next visit...usually i always get a bill from doctors offices after treatment, but this time, the estimate was EXACT! I know that's hard to do with insurances but they were really on top of their work.

This office is nothing more than a money making scam. I will recommend get your child's teeth cleaned there BUT THAT is all. After my daughter's teeth were cleaned they found two cavities. They walked us in a room as if we were buying a used vehicle.
The amount of work they wanted to perform on her teeth was ridiculous. The dentist wanted to put her out over two or three visits.
We went to another dentist to get a second opinion. That dentist stated that children's dentist office do scam more often; however the work she presented to us was ""overkill"". By seeing another dentist we saved $900 - remember for two cavities! - I have insurance by the way.

This office is unlike any pediatric office I've ever been to with my kids. There are video games, tv's on the ceiling, and balloons! Their first time at the dentist, my kids were naturally a little standoffish... The assistant turned their anxiety into excitement, offering reward and praise left and right. They really know how to handle kids here. On a financial note, they presented all the treatment up front and went over every detail of what my insurance estimate was for the next visit. So happy with this office, I'd recommend them to anyone!

My daughter had to lose her first tooth at the dentist. I was very nervous because I didn't want her first experience to be a bad one. I had no reason to be nervous. She did great thanks to the wonderful staff. The assistant showed her everything before hand. The dentist was very friendly. My daughter was actually skipping through the parking lot when we left!
I absolutely loved this office! First, my children were all called back at the same time. The oldest one took his x-rays and my two younger children were able to watch. They each took their turn and did great! They all were together when they got their cleanings done, which also made them feel more comfortable. When the Doctor came over to check them, she rang the no cavity bell after each of their exams. They also received a report card - with a toothbrush grade. My kids have decided to make it a competition to see who can get the best grade nezxt time. As a busy parent, I couldn't be more happy to here that!
