My husband and I chose Joe's for dinner tonight, it was our 12th year wedding anniversary. Both of us loved the food there in the past and the ambiance is charming. Tonight however the food was terrible. Sauce was greasy and stale. The chicken was tough and portions were small and overpriced. It was quite possibly the worst Italian food I have ever eaten. We waited over an hour for our appetizer, baked clams which were mediocre at best, and the bread crumbs where soggy.
I will never eat there again I am sorry to say. 60 dollars for terrible food and a stomach ache.

While I have always been a fan of the local find Chicago Joes and have recommended it to so many people for years...I no longer feel that way. My last couple visits have been not so good on service, but the biggest thing when I ate their last night (an early Saturday night) was their marinara was almost brown. Which leads me to two things-bottom of the barrel or really old marinara? It was bitter and so thick. Joe really?
Now the marinara was one of the things I loved about Chicago Joes in the past, but not this night. I think this restaurant has been there for so long that they have lost sight of the importance of good sauce and good service. I wont be back any time soon unfortunately nor will I be recommending them. I would be embarassed! *Not to mention I manage a large Las Vegas Concierge.
I will say that the bread is terrific-even though the waiter was saying it was coming and then I had to chase him down for it after our salad and soup.
Sorry Joe...perhaps you might need to re-think serving old sauce at an Italian restaurant.

Chicago Joe's is amazing. I've been going there since I was a little girl every year for my birthday. The atmosphere is so nice and quaint. It's food is to die for. It's such an amazing italian homecooked expreince. Now for price it is a little expensive but so what it's worth it. Their service is also great because they treat you like family there. So this is why I think you should go to chicago joes. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

I work downtown, so there aren't many good lunch options for me. Consequently, I end up eating at Joe's pretty frequently because one of the guys suggests it. The food is consistently average to below average. The red sauce is very ordinary and leaves an unpleasant, lingering garlic taste in your mouth. The negative reviews about the bread are right on the money; it's like a crusty Wonderbread. The butter is always frozen so unless you hold it in your hand to warm it, you won't be able to spread it on the awful bread. Really, the only thing the bread is good for is sopping up some sauce. The soup, which is the same everyday, is basically overcooked garlic with a hint of tomato sauce poured over pasta. It's rubbish. The salad is worse than the stuff you get in a bag at the grocery store. Even with all these negatives, I'll admit that the entrees are generally okay, but not great. The service is pretty standard. I try to avoid Joe's when I can, but without a lot of options to counter a co-worker's suggestion, I'll be back. My advice is to eat somewhere else, but if you have to eat at Joe's, go with the chicken parm. It's a standard, and they don't screw it up. If you're looking for a cheap Italian meal and are prepared for average food, this is your place. If you are looking for a pleasant surprise, keep looking.

I am baffled by the good reviews of this restaurant. It was hands down one of the worst places I've ever eaten. I'm not a food snob, but I know and love good italian food having grown up on the East Coast. This place was just flat out awful. Your local pizzeria probably has better food than this place. While the ambience was good, there was not one Italian working there, and it felt like the chef learned how to good at a local prison. The Veal Parm was disgusting. They were ""out"" of spaghetti. The silverware was dirty. The bread was like Wonder Bread. The salad was lower grade then McDonalds. And it was in the middle of nowhere. So unless you're an ex-con, you should probably pass on this place.

This is one of the best places in Las Vegas to eat and take out of town guests. The food is great and the atmosphere is worth the trip. I have lived in Las Vegas for over 20 years and being a transplant from New York - I must admit - it is as good or better then some of the places back home. The staff has always been great also.

I am a creature of habit and so is my Father; we have our usual spots that we go to every Sunday. About a month ago we were driving down 4th and spoted Joe's and the food just melted in my mouth, the italian ice cream was Fantastic and for the first time in a really long time my father fininshed all his food. That to me means that the food has to great. I recommend that if your in the neiborhood, stop by the food is great and the price is right.

Was hotter then heck in the back dining area where the front was nice and cool. Asked to sit up front and said it was reserved. Considering this place doesnt take reservations I was appauled. The waiter was very short with us and acted as if he was dfoing us a favor by even being there. Would NOT suggest going there. First impressions last forever, will never return!

We there with a party of six back in April! Saw the review at another site and we had to try it out!
Great time ,great food and what a staff. We laughed from the time we walked in to the time we left. We travel to Vegas twice a year from Upstate NY and we will return to Chicago Joe's. See you there!

Chicago Joe's is truly like going to your Italian Grandmother's house for a family dinner. It's a quaint little old house converted into a warm and cozy restaurant. The staff is friendly & knows everything about what they serve. If they don't have what you want on the menu they can usually make it for you anyway. My highpiont is the Shrimp or Lobster FraDiAvlo. The corner table in the back is truly perfect for a romantic dinner with someone special. This is a taste of Chicago's Little Italy right here in Sin City!

The most comfortable eating establishment in Vegas. You are put at ease the second you walk in-as if you were dining with old friends in their home! The food was delightful. The portions are very generous. The service was better than any other experienced in Vegas. It deserves to be on your next eating agenda!

We tried this place due to the readership ratings and comments. We were not disappointed - we would describe their food as ""old fashioned, family style Italian"". The portions were generous, and the service was friendly. Costs represented fair values - the only ""downside"" was the area, which is a bit sketchy. We would recommend Joe's to those who would enjoy down home style cooking served in a comfortable environment. Try them.

One word - yummy yum. That about sums up Chicago Joe's. Our waiter, Timothy, besides having the body of a god, had the mind of an Einstein. Not only did he deftly rattled off each and every ingredient available, but all the crust/ingredient combinations (a total of 983 possible combinations) without the aid of a cheat sheet. OK, OK, the pizza.....
Do you enjoy the sounds of a flying hawk in the wilds of Montana? A bubble bath made of nothing but champagne? An alto saxophone solo in the key of B-flat? Chicago Joe's is all this and more. Give it whirl - you'll not only leave satified, but satiated.
