My experience with Cornwall Counseling was first class. I was immediately greeted when I came in, and was offered bottled water or coffee while I was waiting. Dr. Cornwall was available at my appointment time, and I was shown to a private office with no delay in my appointment. Dr. Cornwall was very professional, and provided advice that made sense to me, and that I understood. I was very happy with the experience.

I have gone to Nevada State Behavioral Health for over a year now. Yes, there are a few issues now and then but everyone there works their butt off (and for very little pay). Maribelle and Alexis are excellent and really try to coordinate all the appointments and transportation. And they get to deal with people who are angry and yell at them (me, sometimes, I'm sorry) but yet the two always seem to keep their attitudes happy and they always smile and ask how you are. Always. Sharon, saved my life. If it weren't for her I would not be here. She is very compassionate, a good listener and gives practical advice. She doesn't ask you (like some therapists do) to just put a smile on your face and say positive things. That's not helpful in severe depression and actually makes your situation worse. Sharon would turn herself inside out for me. I call her the MollyWhisperer. Her office setting is relaxing and so is Sharon. I may reject things she says, but when I get home and think about it I realize she's right. She has offered to stay late to fit me in for an appointment (WHO does that??). I'm going through an incredibly difficult situation. I was 100% lost when I entered NSBHS but now I feel like I have someone who cares about me and my situation. I was having my own pity party for awhile and didn't go for a month or so. They called me and asked if I wanted or needed anything. Just a lot of caring people, working very hard, not making much money, And they're on your side. Which means a lot.
I came here for help and I got it!! I felt like the staff was genuinely concerned about me. Megan, Dave, the big Hawaiian guy, gladys, all made me feel so welcomed. And I told the head chef I would do this and describe his food.... The fact that the chef was concerned about the quality of food was impressive. And the food reflected that
This is a horrible place. I fail to see how they can operate with not keeping their appts with us. It's been 4 times in a row they failed to pick us up and an excuse everytime. Even after they call you up to confirm the appt the same day they will not show up nor call. From day one they been drama and I'm ending that drama and going elsewhere. They even told the kids foster care worker they didn't know the kids like we never been there before. Then they wrote a letter to correct it but still damage already done. Then when my kids got there all the time they would say the counselor left or left early or was sick. Always something. Didn't help us at all. If I can save any one a headache. I just have to say this company doesn't run right and they will confirm an appt and not show up nor even call you. Very Unreliable and very unprofessional. After 4 episodes of this I felt best to replace them and save us future headaches.
Great people there who really want to help. No always on time, but worth the wait :-).
My adult daughter has been in and out of treatment facilities for over 20 years. MV is thebest. Caring, considerate, compassionate andeffective.
Quality customer service and an extremely well rounded staff, id recommend Sankofa to anyone any day.
Horrific Hospital!!!!Do NOT under any circumstance seek inpatient or outpatient treatment at Montevista Hospital unless you want to be treated worse that a caged animal. I went to see about their outpatient program because I was dealing with some stress and grief over my beloved dog who was dying. I was involuntarily LOCKED up with no reprieve while my dog was left for dead at home without food, water and medicine. I could go on about the violation of my human rights and the undignified and inhuman treatment I received, but I will leave that to the attorneys and mental health advocates that I have contacted. My advice is to stay as far away as possible from Montevista and seek help elsewhere. Even worse is that I will not get the help I sought, because the horrific experience has left me extremely afraid to contact another mental health professional. I am only giving Montevista one star because it will NOT let me post this review without it. How sad is that!!!
