I had a pretty good experience with Fox but they could use some changes. Our rental car was in great condition and full of gas when we got it. The associate who helped us was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly. In fact, when we told him we had just gotten married, he gave us a free upgrade. We waited in line for maybe 5 minutes, if that. Our vehicle ran great and we had no problems whatsoever with it. My only complaints are that we were not informed that we needed a major credit card to rent without a $400 deposit. We traveled to Vegas from Georgia and didn't bring one with us and we had no way of going to get one. We were able to use our debit card and show our itinerary for the return flight home to bring the deposit down to $250 but we would have appreciated a heads up about either one before our trip. (We reserved the car a month or more in advance) The deposit was credited back to our back account in 5 days (but two of those days were a weekend). Also, when I tried to call them to inquire how long we would have to wait on the deposit, no one EVER answered the phone. I called six times over two days. Lastly, and this can't really be changed any time soon, they are a little inconveniently located. We had to take two shuttles from the airport to get to them. (Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long periods for the shuttles there or back) I would rent from them again now that I know to be prepared for the deposit but I really wish we had been informed of it ahead of time.
I have always enjoyed driving, while others keep talking about how much they hate it. In particular I like exploring different neighborhoods and things the city has to offer. I used to think about being a truck driver, but then gave up on the idea. Even though it might have been fun for a while, driving and seeing a big chunk of the country, I thought the lifestyle would get tiring. I sometimes wonder where the trucking industry is headed, in a world where fuel prices are expected to rise on the long term. Demand for transporting commodities will surely be solid, especially since many commodities like wheat and corn are basic necessities. However, it’s not just about commodities. It is about a lot of other goods. Many of those goods are imported, thus they are found in some of our nation’s ports. It is often stated that the farming sector will expand in the future. The trucking industry to a great extent would be tied in to this phenomenon. While driving a truck is an experience many would not consider glamorous, driving a Lamborghini is a different story. And one can do both, without owning either one. One of my favorite hangouts is Fantasy Car Rentals. It is a very unique experience to cruise in a luxury automobile very few of us can afford. I would go as far as to say it gives one a different perspective. Sitting at the wheel of a Ferrari or Lamborghini gives one a different lens to stare at the world through. If in Las Vegas, I strongly recommend a visit to Fantasy Car Rentals.
The entire experience was fantastic. I reserved a car for Thursday, then ended up needing it on Wednesday too. Called to see if that would be possible, and they confirmed the car would be ready for pick up when I got there. I got there (a little later than anticipated) and the car wasn't ready, so they offered to buy my coffee at the Starbucks while I waited. No big deal, I'm having a day off in Vegas. I've got no rush. Eventually they come over and tell me they found a truck I could take for no extra charge. Will it fit me and my two friends? Yep, it's a full cab Dodge Ram. Convenient, since I happen to be going to explore Red Rock today! The truck was perfect, and a ton of fun to drive. I brought it back on Thursday around 3pm, but since I'd had to wait a long time the day before, they only charged me for ONE DAY! Never had to futz with offers to upcharge my insurance/coverage/options/etc. Just got my car and was on my way! I would actually take a future trip to Vegas just for the chance to rent a car here again. Oh, while in the airport on Thursday I realized I'd left my jacket in the truck. Called them, they found the jacket and said they'd FedEx it to me using the card I'd paid for the truck with. Best experience with a rental EVER.
Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at this hotel. We called and reserved a room prior to arrival, however when we got to check in they tried to give us two double beds as opposed to the king bed previously reserved, and charged us more than the price quoted to us over the phone.Customer service was not excellent overall. At one point I needed to wait for my significant other to come over in order to tip the valet (named Dennis) and although I had not left the area yet, he complained loudly to other staff in front of several people about his lack of a tip from me (although I had every intention of and did in fact, tip him). This was my first visit to Vegas and I expected service that lived up to the money I was spending. I am disappointed that it was not the case. The good points of the hotel were the view from the tower and the furnishings in the room, however our shower did not drain in the bathroom and there was only one accessible outlet for cellphone/computer chargers. Also, wifi is an extra $12 a day on top of their rates. Overall this hotel was not worth what we paid, and we will be finding other lodgings on our future visits.
This was our first time renting from National. I reserved the car before joining the Emerald Club. I requested a full size car and was quoted for a full size car, but upon arriving in Las Vegas, there were no full size cars in the aisle. In fact, there were was only one car in the mid size aisle. We arrived on a 5:30 AM flight and were in a hurry so we took the one mid sized car in the aisle. It was new with a temporary tag in the front window. Check out was fast and efficient. Unfortunately, we were stopped twice in AZ due to the temporary tag. Our rental was for two weeks and a few days into our rental, I received an email from a representative stating that there was an error and the car was not attached to our contract and requesting the car VIN number so that it could be attached to our contract. Was definitely not the smoothest car rental transaction that we have experienced, but hope that the next time will be better. I will definitely know to reserve a mid-size car next time. Check in was quick and efficient.
We rented a little Chevy SUV. Newer, clean, and roomy BUT... we started to have mechanical issues right away with vehicle hesitating (jerking) upon acceleration which got progressively worse over our 3 day rental. Upon returning the vehicle we told the agent it was unsafe to drive and need to be serviced. I also forgot a $1K RX glasses in the dash console which I called ro retrieve while still at the airport. I was told that it was not reported to lost & found by the intake agent and that the vehicle would be searched after it came back from the wash lane. I also had to make a formal online lost & found report. The report came back that my glasses were not found and that the vehicle was rented out hours after it was returned and that no lost items were reported by the subsequent renter. #1 that vehicle should have been serviced not rented. #2 the glasses was last seen in the vehicle by all of my fellow travelers. This is certainly a POOR reflection on their value of customer SAFETY and service.
Renting a car in Las Vegas is an exercise in extreme patience right now. The airport is under construction, so the shuttle to the rental cars takes forever to get to the rental hub. Once there, we stood in line for ten minutes before an Alamo employee told us we could use the kiosks if we had a confirmation number. There was no signage informing us of the fact. The only other problem we had was upon returning the car. We decided to turn it in early to avoid traffic issues when we left early the next morning. There was no directional info anywhere on the contract, holder, or in the car. And since we never spoke to an agent, we had no idea how to get back to the return area from our hotel. So, we headed to the airport and followed the signage until we totally lost it, and ended up on another freeway. We did call at the point and after a long hold, got an agent and got directions, finally. A return trip that should have taken us five minutes took 30. A little printed info would have helped a lot.
In the end, AFTER all the mishaps, it turned out to be fine. The staff with each interaction was very good, friendly, somewhat helpful and kind. Unfortunately, even when questioned and assured everything was OK, issues arose and I had to take care of resolving everything on my own. I had a coupon for a free rental day, which was given to the PLUS agent when getting the car ... she wanted to keep the coupon but finally gave me the top part, which was helpful but, as you will see, not the answer. Upon return there was a charge of $84+ for my free rental day. Check in person gave me to a "fixer" in the little house in the return area who did her best to fix it, but was unable to remove the one class upgrade to full size. It required a call the next day to someone in Las Vegas, I believe at the counter in the RAC, to remove that, per the coupon. In the end, it came out right, but who wants to go through all the hassle. Had it been right in the beginning it would not have happened.
I had rented with another company in Vegas a few years back and had a nightmare of an experience.. had to go to multiple locations to find a car and the car provided was in bad shape. My experience with National was the complete opposite!! They were quick and efficient and exceeded my expectations in every way. We were a family of 4 and were renting for 8 days, planning on trips to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Death Valley, etc as well as a few days relaxing in Vegas and rented a Premium sized car. When we got to the rental center, we realized we had packed too heavy and the suitcases were not going to fit. The agent on duty in the garage provided a free upgrade to a mini-van, no questions asked or extra charges. Talk about exceeding our expectations! The mini-van was perfect for our activities. If National continues to provide this level of service and customer focus, we have no reason to look elsewhere! Thanks National!
This location, while conveniently located for me anyways does NOT have employees that obviously were taught or told that this is a customer service based business! Rude every chance they get, whether it's by phone or in person. And they are obviously NOT trained very well because I called several times prior to picking up my rental to ask a simple question and couldn't even get a straight answer and I was always rushed off the phone. It's great that you don't have to have a credit card to rent through them however welcome is not how you're made to feel here. Now as for my rental, it wasn't cleaned prior to me getting it and the hood wasn't closed good and I only noticed it as I got on the freeway and the hood is flapping making all sorts of noises and an hour into my journey the check engine/service soon light comes on. REALLY! Better training for there workers and better people to clean and service the vehicles!
