Having read & being concerned ab some of the bad reviews - we did board our 45lb, lab/collie, 1 1/2 yr old here for a wk. This was his 1st time ever boarded (& significantly, coming from where he's treated as much a child as the children: loved, coddled, w/ us 24/7, always underfoot - going to the austerity of boarding w/o his family). OF COURSE he was stressed!I felt we had a relatively good experience & wanted to post; also, note that the really bad reviews are older (some being very old).I compared Animal Inn directly to my vet & LV Dog Resort & found:Animal Inn:- $20/day, with wkly rate $126- Most rm w/ a 4x15 run, cooled indoor/misted outdoor space separated by doggie door, mid-high block wall runs length between runs, chain link fence from block wall up, chain link locking gate on inside (& outside?), food/water kept in inside area; well ventilated, cleaned 2x/day (I watched them hosing 1 out & smelled the bleach). I did a pop-in visit/tour & did not see soiled runs. Large grassy area on side of bldg, divided into 2 sections, well maintained. Dogs are not combined = not socialized = limiting exposure to each other, disease.- Friendly staff from my first call for basic info thru pick they were very friendly, accommodating. They handled the front desk appropriately, had no problem letting me tour the runs, were very attentive to the dogs barking at us, handled the separation of me & my pet well, suggested I call if I wanted to chk in, suggested that my emergency contact could visit & play in grassy area w/ him at any time (standard policy), gave me a full update on his experience & suggestions for making it better if I boarded w/ them again.Vet:- $24/day, w/o wkly rate- Least rm w/ a 4x8 run, entirely indoors, totally enclosed: solid side walls, solid back wall, chain link gate with solid wood covering most of it, felt & seemed claustrophobic to me & for the dogs - had to go on tiptoe to peer over door to see in and they couldn't see out (to see what was going on around them); barely enough room for food/water dishes, or for dog to turn around in - any jumping would result in spilled food/water, with little room left over to curl up in. Whole back area in general was very warm, and no ventilation (or not enough) - so was stinky & hot to me, let alone those w/ fur coats! Dogs taken for a 'walk' in back of building to an open area off parking lot, rocky and barren, & unfenced.- That being said, I've never had a problem boarding my long haired Chihuahua there in 9 yrs in a kennel - smaller dog needs/likes less space; but felt my larger dog needed more.LV Dog Resort:- $50-$60/day- No individual run, but penned together in "indoor play park with large screen TVs" based on dog size throughout the day then put into various sized private rooms with a fancy bed and color tv, including "chandelier lighting, custom paint/trim, movie of the day, toys with decorative art"! On tour was invited to see where they 'walk' the dogs to go potty, their "outdoor play park with plush Astroturf" was a chain link fenced area in back which absolutely REEKED (overwhelmingly so) & had not been pooper scooped any time recently as there were numerous piles sitting around. Dogs are penned, so very much socialized & in each other's space whether they liked it or not. Dreaded thinking of them being walked or let loose in that back area & walking in other's pee and poo; or if one had an accident in pen area that wasn't cleaned up immediately!SUMMARY:I would definitely board him again here. You get way more for what you pay & are not paying for superfluous excesses. Paula & Danielle were awesome.
Finally I can go on vacation and relax. We are so fortunate to have the girs at Las Vegas Pet Nanny caring for our "four legged children." In this economy its such an extra expese to have animals. With having "a few" its crazy. Usually people wanted to charge extra per pet even when staying at our house. Its even more of a fortune to bring them to a boarding facility. One time, when they came home, they had contracted kennel cough from a sick dog staying in the place. It was a nightmare!! It end up costing us a couple hundred extra dollars in vet expenses. All the facility could say was "Well, we will pay for the antibiotics." From that point on, I wanted them to stay in their own environment and have someone come to the house. Again- On two separate occasions, we came home early from our trip. Only to find the person we hired (and paid in advance) hadn't been to the house in a couple of days. It was devistatng. I no longer wanted to take chances without interviewing or knowin the people I am leaving "my little family members with." Right away, I appreciated how professional LVPN's were. They had questions for me, just as I did them. I felt my animals were in the safest hands with this organization. They went above and beyond anyone else we had ever hired. They text photos and even sent a video of one of our animals when they thought there might be a medical condition needing vet assistance. It was great communication. Usually, you get what you pay for. Not in this case. I can see they are wanting it to be affordable for the average person. There prices are really great! We were so greatful, we wanted to pay them more. I think these ladies really value their jobs as well as love the animals. I say: "Tip well, its worth it!" -Piccolina'sMom
Nannies Bethany and Nita have been coming over every weekday for four weeks taking care of Beauregard for a couple of hours and a couple of Friday nights to keep him company while mommy & daddy have date night. Until this week, he had not finished all of his shots, and we were guarding against him picking up any illness, which meant he was on lockdown. A rambunctious 11 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy doesn't like lockdown very much! Bethany and Nita have done an amazing job with him! He has been able to socialize with and learn from other people. He can't wait for them to arrive each day. As soon as he hears the doorbell, he knows it is for him! He loves the play time, the walks he goes on now, and the guidance they give him. He is less hyper, less bitty, and more patient. He is so tired from the end of the two hours that he sleeps for three! And I benefit too from the relief knowing he is well taken care of, and I can run errands or get some work done. Bethany and Nita work with a couple of other show dog households. They know some tricks we don't even know yet, since Beauregard is our first show dog. They have been able to get him started on some simple things like stacking for treats, which is a bonus to us! We are so grateful for the help.Next week we will start taking Beau over to their house, so he can spend time away from home and with other dogs which love to play. You can never socialize too much! I trust them implicitly to take care of him and make sure the play doesn't get out of control. Nobody wants a show dog with a split ear! :) and they just completed a course this week in pet CPR from a nationally recognized trainer. I admire them for continuing to educate themselves, wanting to grow into their business, and offering a broad range of services. This is the kind of small business I want to support as much as I can. Therefore, I highly recommend them for your pet! You won't be disappointed!
Absolutely AMAZING! Bethany is professional, friendly, trustworthy, kind and a GREAT communicator. She has clearly set up her business per national professional pet sitting organization guidelines, and she has great company policies, procedures and customer service. Bethany sent text photos of our pets every day which was wonderful because we missed our furry kids while we were away. Bethany treated our cats as if they were her own, noticed and loved all their personalities, and she supported all their needs from treats to sink drinks. :) I'm so grateful that Bethany is our pet sitter, and as someone who doesn't trust a lot of vendors in their home, I completely trust Bethany. I also love her website and her Facebook page. It's great to see a small business take the time to use all types of media with their clients. And I know she's patient and dedicated because she shared a story of another kitty she was caring for that caused her to be "late" getting to ours. Our fat cats were just fine getting dinner late, and I was glad she was able to help her other client who's medicine was very important. She was truly meant to be in this business. Thank you LVPN!!
i've been using the vets here for about 8 years or so. i had two cats they gave the best care to. yesterday, i brought in one of my cats whose heart was racing, but whose breathing was labored. this had been going on for a short time. i had dr. shaver this time. after taking x-rays, while my cat was on oxygen, it was decided that what was best for the cat was to put her down. she made sure i was as informed as i could be in making my decision. i sort of had a feeling this was going to be the outcome. dr. shaver could not have been nicer and more comforting. anyone who has had to put down a pet knows how hard it is. although my husband and i are very sad over this loss, i know that with dr. shaver's help and support i made the right decision. this was my first time with dr. shaver, but i have used other vets here, and i have to say it's probably one of the best places one could take a sick pet. everyone is so nice. the vets are very skilled and professional, but also very kind, and the place is immaculate. i just want to also thank dr. shaver for the kindness she showed to me yesterday. it was very much appreciated. groom my own dogs. I just don't have the skills or patience for it. BUT, In all the years I've been bringing my dogs to a groomer, I have never met a groomer who's as caring and compassionate as Debby, with Angel Tails Mobile Dog Grooming. My 4-dogs are unruly and over the years, they have given every groomer a hard time, until now. Debby has a special way about her that somehow makes my 4- Shih Tzu's relax and enjoy the experience! Debby really has special talent and she really cares! I've used Angel Tails 3 times now, and from the moment Debby shows up at the door, until the time she leaves, our little one's are surprisingly happy to get groomed. In the past, our dogs were always upset and agitated after getting groomed. But after getting groomed by Angel Tails, they are different dogs. The grooming was without a doubt top notch too! Angel Tails is a self-contained mobile grooming business with the best equipment on board! Our Shi Tzu's never looked and smelled so good! I will continue to use Angel Tails Mobile Dog Grooming and I highly recommend Debby (the owner) for grooming services!Marc C Las Vegas, NV
I have been to several different grooming shops since moving to Vegas.. Thank goodness I found Pawsh Wash Pet Grooming Salon. Jeanne the owner is so nice.. And always goes out of her way to get zoey in on a sec. notice!! They are all so happy and friendly!!! And the groomer Shonna is simply fantastic & great with my kids!! They haven't had such a perfect haircut since leaving my groomer in California!!! Shonna did an excellent lion cut on Henry my Persian cat!!! And Zoey my bichon looks great with all the extras too without all the extra charges!! Zoey not only gets a spa when going to Pawsh Wash but she gets a play day too!! The first time taking Zoey there I wash a little nervous after all the bad experiences at other shops here in Vegas..Shonna re-assured me that Zoey was going to be a little whiny until after I left... Shorly after I left I received a text video of my Zoey playing having a great time!! WOW!!!!! Thanks to Jeanne, Garrett, and Shonna !!!!! You guys are the best!! Thank You, so much for taking such good care of my kids!!!!!!!!
I found this company last week online on yp. i called and the girl on the phone was super sweet she explain everything in detail on how they groom. i'm they type of person that looks at customer service 100%. I took my puppy monster in and the girl (idk her name) made an effort to get to know monster. she hung out with him before she took him back because it was his first grooming. they did the cut exactly the way i asked. my puppy always bites when hes scared and i told them it was oki to use the muzzle on him. she said she was going to wait till he reacted before putting it on. monster bit her 4 times and i saw the marks but she said she waited before putting it on. she was super gentle towards him and i got a call to pick him up. when i pulled up and saw he kissing and hugging my insecure chihuhaua you could tell he loved her too. he was so0o0o0o0o happy running out of there.. i'm not going anywhere else because these people were so0o0o sweet i told all my friends and they loved monsters new look!
Relieved After searching the internet for a warm welcoming place to leave my 2 year old Siberian Husky Ky, I was lucky enough to stumble upon The Las Vegas Pet Nanny's service. I am pleased to say that the service I received from Manny Chaz was amazing. When I met him I learned he had worked at SeaWorld, training the marine mammals for 6 years prior to now working with the Las Vegas Pet Nanny. I felt relieved to leave Ky in the hands with someone with such experience, so that while I was away for business I could focus on that and not worry that Ky was not being taken care of. If that wasn't enough I also received pictures of Ky looking at home and very content. Thanks Las Vegas Pet Nanny your service was everything I could hope for! Ky will be seeing more of Chaz and the rest of the Las Vegas Pet Nanny team in the very near future.
Dr. Evans at Tropicana Animal Hospital is undoubtedly a true hero after saving my kitty who went into congestive heart failure. Last year...out of the blue my two year old cat was struggling to breathe and fighting for his life. Dr. Evans was working after hours on a Sunday (on call) and rushed him into treatment immediately saving his life. Heart disease was diagnosed and my kitty has to take daily meds, but it has been a year of healthy and happy living for my little guy. This clinic is very caring and very affordable, which confirms that they really have their priorities in check and are not all about the money. The rest of the staff are always very friendly whenever I stop in to refill his medicine. I highly recommend this place and feel very grateful for their compassion and services.
