Couldn't be happier with the level of care I received. It's truly amazing to me in the hands of specialists along with a very nice and knowledgeable staff. Great experience.

The staff was excellent from start to finish. From scheduling through visiting the office, I felt valued at every step of the way. Dr. Johnson was very attentive and explained things very well.
My vision used to be perfect, until I became legally blind from cataracts. Dr. John Michaelos from St. Michael’s Eye and Laser Institute performed my surgery using the ReSTOR premium iol. The surgery took only 15 minutes per eye- no stitches were used and I experienced no pain. I sat up and could see. Truly, a modern miracle! When I walked outside I was amazed at how green the grass was and how vivid the colors were. My vision was again perfect at all ranges. If you are considering cataract surgery I would definitely recommend investing in the ReSTOR premium IOL. It may be the most important investment you could make. The doctors and staff at the St. Michael’s Eye and Laser Institute were professional and friendly. I have never been so impressed with an organization in any industry.
My friend told me that after his mother had cataract surgery everything looked so much brighter. I said to my friend that I didn’t think that was my problem, but after my cataract surgery I was amazed at the beautiful colors of the world that suddenly appeared. My driving at night is as different as black and white. Before I had the cataract surgery I would get very upset if the lines on the road were wearing off and I couldn’t see well enough to find those dim lines. After cataract surgery, I feel so much safer driving at night now! I am a musician and reading the music was becoming a major task before my surgery-now I can see music very quickly and clearly. Also, as a seamstress the needle has come out of the haystack.I cannot say enough about the excellent treatment that I received from all the staff at St. Michael’s Eye and Laser Institute. All of the personnel were so pleasant, compassionate, and made sure that I was comfortable and coping well with the procedure. The environment, ambiance, and interior design of the institution is very calming and help to ease the anxiety, anxiousness, and apprehension of patients.I am a very satisfied patient and have already given my recommendation of St. Michael’s Eye and Laser Institute to several potential persons with cataract concerns.
I could not pass up the opportunity to thank you for the life-changing eye surgery you performed for me almost one month ago. I am so very thankful for my newfound vision and could never find the words to truly express how much I appreciate all you and your staff have done in making it possible for me to now see! Your steady hand and precision work are truly gifts from the Lord! I am just so very grateful to you for doing everything within your power to ensure a successful outcome during my surgery. I am so very pleased I decided to undergo EPI- LASIK eye surgery at St. Michael’s Eye and Laser Institute and that you were my surgeon.
Amazing facility beautiful atmosphere and staff couldn't have asked for a better doctors office. They really do treat people like family.
This doctor crossed ethical lines that prompted me to change physicans during a sensitive post-operative period. His comments ranged from jokes about domestic violence to sexually inappropriate language. When I took my concerns to the “Director of Operations” she questioned whether I had “misheard” or “misunderstood” what this doctor said, and assured me she would “research” the issue. In the ensuing conversation, she referred to patients at this eye clinic as “old ladies” not ten minutes after professing “this practice prides itself on professional and respectful care.” I was given conflicting instructions regarding post-operative eye drop instillation, and when I tried to clarify the instructions with the prescribing doctor, he couldn’t be bothered to listen to my questions before telling me to “continue taking them as you are” and hanging up, without a clear understanding of how I was taking them. ¬¬Worst medical experience of my life! If he were the last retinal surgeon on earth, I would not subject myself to his “care.”Billing “errors” were greater than two thousand dollars, which included the billing department insisting I had to pay a $1200 deductible, even though it had already been met, and charging “out of network” fees when both the MD and surgery center were in network. Prior to surgery, I asked specifically about additional billing and was never told about any out of network charges. The person in the billing department could not explain any of the billing charges to me and I had to go to the director of the billing department with the issue. Not a single person apologized for any of these errors. On the upside, the clinic receptionists and the young lady who scheduled me for surgery were professional, efficient, and a pleasure to interact with. The nurses at the surgery center were kind, knowledgeable, and generous with warm blankets. The van service was very convenient and the driver thoughtful and helpful. They should give lessons on common courtesy to the “higher-ups.”
My husband had a sergery with Dr Michaels.Doctor promissed to him that he will see as an eagle. Sergery did not go well. My husband s vision now is worst than it was before the surgery. There was no apology or explanation why did it go wrong. I would not recomend this doctor to anybody!
