In October 2015, my mother, 65, hired MIKE YOUNG, contractor to build a garage. On a wet day in November, half of driveway removed, hole for foundation dug on what we found out was the day that the permits would have expired if they had not started work. Didn't hear from them again until 2016. By June 2016, foundation blocks were finally layed (6" rather than 8" that was listed in plans), shoddy pointing, but the new driveway turned out so well. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in Spring 2016, and she could no longer deal wth the stress of managing this project so I (her son) stepped in, and by the end of the summer, rough framing was done, roof was on and shingled (unfortunately the drip edge was installed improperly). We even had hopes that the garage would be finished before snow began. Last spoke to Mike Young on Tuesday morning, second week in december, despite being told that the workers would be at the house that day to get the soffitt, gutter, fascia done so that the house would not be open to the elements all winter. NO CALL, NO SHOW! They broke 3 basement windows, splattered concrete all over existing siding on house that was not meant to be replaced, ripped out dryer vent without fixing it, 5 trees were destroyed including 2 japanese maples worth $1,500. Removed fence but did not put it back so now dog runs away. Final grading was never done so the basement wall in one corner of the house gets damp when it rains. They are despicable to take a large deposit from a retired person, and then what should have been a 2 -3 month project (and should've been finished in December 2015) is still not complete as of February 2017! Still need doors, overhead door, electrical, insulation, drywall, siding, gutters, soffit, and fascia, plus repairs to the damage they caused, final grading, and about $2,000 reimbursement for damaged trees that was promised us. WHO DOES THIS TO AN OLD LADY FIGHTING CANCER? F U Mike Young! Karma will get you real bad!
I hired Northtown Construction Inc. to do some work for me earlier this year. They did not do what they said they were going to do, whether it was verbal or written. When they actually did some work, it was shoddy at best. They have not returned emails or phone calls and they have not returned to fix or complete their work. They did not clean up after themselves, and they had no respect for my property. I would not refer them to anyone based on the work they did for me. Caveat emptor.
Highly recommended!! Great Company!! Had this company do my roof after having it was done by another company and leaked over and over. This company went above and beyond and even gave me gutters on the front of my home to stop water from getting into my basement. They were always on time and extremely professional. As a single woman, I was worried, but this company is honest and cares about their customers.
