General Info: Lansing Police Department North Precinct encompasses an area of more than 15 square miles and serves over 48,000 residents. It offers a range of law enforcement and crime prevention services and is located in Lansing, Mich. The department has nearly 15 detectives who perform secondary investigations on reported crimes. Lansing Police Department North Precinct is managed by the Lansing Police Department, which employs more than 350 sworn and civilian officers and operates several specialized units. Its dive team offers river patrol and water rescue services. The department s internal affairs unit investigates complaints about police personnel. Lansing Police Department also operates a motorcycle unit that promotes traffic safety and coordinates special events, such as parades, runs, marches and protests.
