I kept hearing about this market and how great the food was. It was terrible. I am from Southern California and there is nothing authentic about this bland food. Their "huge burrito" was small and had hardly anything in it. Their chicken tacos were bland. I paid once for my food then added chips and salsa while waiting for my food and was charged for my food again. I was looking at the bill when I got home and realized the overcharge too late. Doing the math they charged me for a pound of chips (my scale at home said it was 11 ounces to include the bag. The chips and salsa were just ok. They did not even have beans or rice which I was disappointed in. I could have spent less by going to a sit down meal and would have paid way less. I don't understand all the great reviews on other sites at all. The food was lacking on every level.
This store used to be the best around, bar none. Don't know what has happened but the quality and selection of food has deteriorated over the last year. Customer service has also nosedived with one of the staff having quite an unfriendly attitude.I would also question the cleanliness of the place since the last time I was in there an employee was changing her baby's smelly diaper in the middle of the store. Had to leave!
Do not go there for their Bakery Bread. I refuse to go to this Kroger if bread is on my list, but my husband likes it because it is close to where we live. I do not waste my time any more as they generally are out of the French loaf when ever I want to purchase bread. But today they really did a silly thing. They told my husband if he waited the bread would be out of the oven in 10 min. So he waited and asked them to slice the bread for him. Now anyone that bakes bread should have been trained to know the basic rules about hot bread. The first rule is do not slice bread until it is cool, so tell the customer if he is buying the hot or warm bread he will have to purchase it un-sliced, as hot slices stick to each other like glue. The second rule is do not tie the plastic bag closed until the bread is completely cool or when you get home with it not only are the slices stuck together but the interior of the bread is wet and doughy and ready for the garbage. I suggest that if your that uninformed why not close the bakery completely. The other Kroger stores in Lansing seam to get it why can't Frandor
