Well I gave this place a trial run and let me tell you what...HUGE portion sizes on the non-lunch combo dishes. One dish could easily feed 2-4 people depending on how much you eat. The crab rangoons are an absolute must. One of the only places to have REAL rangoons, they are HUGE and overflowing with filling. The egg rolls and rangoons were fried from fresh while my food was being made. The egg rolls are really big too. Prices are a little less than House of Ing, but you get way way more food. Very expansive menu. Lunch specials are till 4pm EVERY day of the week, what a surprise that was. If I had to complain about something, it would be that the egg rolls were a tad bit greasy, but not areally big deal for me. They even have a website www.ulikemi.com got it off of their menu.I have found my new favorite Chinese restaurant in the Lansing area bar none.2 BIG thumbs up!!Kevin K.
the food is BEST around the area. the food is always warm and yummy. it is a family restaurant, people work in there is all nice, their english is not very well, pay little patient to them. they will give you the best food around the area! they have best general tso chicken and crab rangoon around the city! try them! i always ordering delivery, and never has problem. i give 5 star to this one.i ordered once from china palace2 the one from waverly, the delivery is super slow, and when i got my food its super cold. i called the restaurant for complaint, the manager was like "yah yah yah, sure sure sure" and never give me anything for credit.
I absolutely love this. My husband and I planned on going to Fire Mountain but when we got there, there was a huge line to get in but all the tables inside still empty! So we came here which was both of our first times. I loved it! I wasted less food than a normal buffet because I scarfed down everything I got. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasted homemade compared to the chain buffets. We both agreed we were coming back soon. Prices are less for buffet and drinks than anywhere elses buffet alone. I definitely recommend here!
Last year when we went I thought it was the best Chinese Buffet in the Lansing area. Last night we went and were very disappointed. Several empty serving dishes, not a good selection, food was mediocre and bussing was almost nonexistent and our table was sticky though it was supposedly ready for customers with place mats (upside down) and flatware. Couldn't get an employees attention to wipe it so took clean napkin and water from my glass and washed it myself. Very few employees visable.
The two negative reviewers are terribly mistaken. FH was the first Chinese spot I tried after moving from GR to Lansing, and after trying numerous other places, I keep coming back here. Their food is excellent. I tend to get take out, but the few times I ate in I had very pleasant experiences. My only thought is that the two negative reviews must come from proprietors of competing restaurants, because there is no way they're talking about Fortune House. This place is definitely worth a try.
I didn't like my food at all. I called and placed an order. I got there early and waited for my food. I drove home (maybe 1 mile) by then my food was already hardly warm. I don't think it had a lot of flavor either. I am not going again.
I love this place! The eggroles are by far THE best! I love how people talk crap about this place common sense dont go to it then more for us lovers i guess haha! Im sorry you dont get special rights just because your pregnant geez
Negative reviews definitely sound like competitors. I've been to Fortune House over 50 times and it's always excellent. Big servings and always fresh and hot. Staff is very friendly also.
Good food, great service, good prices. LOVE the lunch buffet. Our favorite little Chinese place in town; perfect for a state worker to walk to lunch!
