Below is the statement for Grover and Son's Lancaster, OH. Don't fall for it. It is just words. The company doesn't stand behind anything they sell. They laugh at you as you walk out the door, and when you call they hang up on you. There are over 16 complaints through the Better business Bureau in the past year. I have heard over 4 people locally who have bought vehicles from this company and within a month the motors are blowing up. "Our commitment to being the best for the community shows in every deal we do. Grover & Sons Motor Sales is dedicated to customer satisfaction and we have provided you with a map, as well as our address and phone number to help you find us easily. We are passionate about our customers being first and we intend on sharing that passion with you when you purchase your new car from us."
3 months after buying my vehicle at S & J, I had to replace the entire engine. Before I bought it, I noticed it sounded a little rough, and the check engine light was on. Their mechanic looked at it and said it was nothing and I figured it sounded loud due to the difference in my previous vehicle and this one I was thinking of purchasing. The owner drove it for a day to make sure the engine light didn't come back on and assured me it was fine. $1,700 later, NOW it's fine. I have yet to take in my receipt and see if they will give me any $ back, but I seriously doubt it. I hope they all had nice holidays, cause all my extra money for Christmas went on my car.
told me they will send my my title within a week. took 3 weeks to get my title and that was with calling 2x a day bugging them to get it done. i told them i needed it to get my tags bc my temp tags flew away in a wind storm. they also told me i didnt need my 30 day tag as long as i have the bill of sale in the car with me it was just like a 30 day tag. not true. ended up calling the dmv/ title office and the police station and was told no by all 3 that i cant drive my car without a tag!! check your car very closely. the car i bought from them had dry rot tires, bad all joint, only front breaks, and those were bad. need struts.and a tire rotor, also for some reason they had the horn and lights, unpluged. they wouldnt even work with me on their price. i will never go back there to buy a car and i will take someone with me that knows about cars instead of trusting the salesman. the mechanic i took it to told me i shouldnt of paid anymore than $1200 for the car the way it was. i paid $3000.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN! We were looking at minivans since our family is growing. We landed upon a Mazda. My wife fell in love with it. It was an ok price for it. We took it for a test drive. I noticed some smoking coming from the engine compartment. There wasn't any leaking or anything. The check engine light did not come on at all. I noticed there was a small amount of oil residue next to the cap as if it was spilled being filled up. That happens. I voiced my concern about the smoking. They stated it was probably just spilled oil as I suspected. They stated that if it was not, that they would fix it. The salesman the entire time we were filling out paperwork was talking about how he used to drink all of the time, and told stories of his crazy ex girlfriends. He also used a great amount of obscenities especially for a business environment. We paid our deposit, tax and title and filled out our paperwork. We are driving the vehicle home, and SURPRISE SURPRISE... the check engine light comes on. My wife takes it the next morning to a trusted garage while I am at work. The code came back with an emissions error. We then take it to the car lot. I informed my wife to just ask for our money back. They must have known there was something wrong. The manager (the owner's husband) told her to go inside to the owner to get the money back. The entire time she is giving attitude. These people are extremely unprofessional. I am so glad that I no longer have to deal with them. STAY AWAY!
