Living in small space doesn't mean you can't have a furry friend -- it just means you have to do some planning.
We've put together a small list to get you started on your journey -- and the first step starts with a single box.
We have been living here for just about 2 months and we love it! It’s quiet, the office personnel are all very accommodating. The maintenance guys are very quick to fix any issues. I would personally like an updated doorbell to be louder. Our unit is a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath 2 story. The cabinet space is a bit small for the size of the home but nothing we can’t work with. Overall this is a much nicer community than other places we have lived. A big plus is the security, with it being gated and I see them patrol all the time. Pools are clean and well maintained. Happy we found these townhomes.
She took my deposit in November 2015 and told us the apartment would be ready before Christmas, well she kept giving us excuses until I was finally allowed to move in on February 12 of 2016. Also before she would allow us to sign the lease papers she demanded that I bring my son with me to her so she could see if I could care for my child because I am disabled and in a wheelchair. She demanded a pet deposit for my service dog even though I had doctors papers. She never did a walk-through with me when I first got my keys and when I saw the inside of my apartment I broke down in tears because it was so disgusting. After following several times because the toilet was nowhere near ADA requirements I asked her to replace it with one that was, and her response was that I need to get the city to give me one because "they always get free stuff like that to you people". So she had a used toilet installed that still wasn't ADA. We had multiple break in attempts to the point I had to get a handgun just feel safe. Then my service dog got his toes stuck in a broken drain that I ask her to fix repeatedly, that required the fire department to cut him along with the drain still attached to his foot out. She refused to fix the tub until we paid for her to upgraded it to a handicap tub. We ended up having to get the county involved and they made her replace it, which took a less than $700 bathtub shell to fix, after almost 2 months with no bathtub. She is a hateful greedy woman who sees all the people who rent in this complex as beneath her, to the point that she treats us is if we aren't even human. She will try everything to not fix the problem, and if she is forced to fix it she will find the cheapest way possible to. I left in the middle of April 2017, after having Merry Maids professionally deep clean the entire unit, and I have still yet to be giving either my deposit or a detailed explanation of charges, which is against the law to take more than 30 days to do so.

I could not wait to the lease was over, this place is horrible thanks to the staff who never repairs anything, always tell you it will be put on a list and 1 year later it is never repaired. Gia the manager is lazy, never around and very condescending like you owe her for her time; she is rude and always acting like she is in a hurry; not a professional person whatsoever, the place is never kept up and the pool is always filthy, lights take forever to get replaced outside. Run as fast as you can.
DON'T MOVE INTO THESE APTS. I've had things stolen out of my garage, my grill stolen off of my porch, and my tires slashed. Theres cameras in the apts but of course they don't work. I had things that needed to be fixed i came a couple days before the new for a work order Gia didn't put it in because they were having inspections and she needed the maintenance mans full attention on cleaning up her mess it took three days for me to get my sink and toilet fixed. I had to complain to corporate to get it done, only for a half a$$ job. I had to put in another work order because water was shooting out from under my sink because he didn't connect the hose back to the sink. Lets also mention how the office is closed A LOT and you have to go in there to put money on a laundry card. I went one day and the office eas closed early and i seen Gia sitting on her porch talking. Now Im getting evicted for being late on my rent after explaining to Gia about my situation. I tried to pay, but they refused it. When we went to court their lawyer tried to make a deal all i asked for was for them not to put the eviction on my record, im a single mother of 3 everyone knows how hard it is to get a place with an eviction on your record. They didn't want to settle, they didnt want to accept tge rent money plus late fees I had ready to give. They are heartless all because my rent is 719$ and for new tenants its 845$ . Thats fine i was willing to leave if that meant not having an eviction. They didn't care don't move here they don't believe people have hardships!
The worst, they are always in your business, residents constantly being nosey, office is always using a form of excuse to enter your unit, Mexicans janitors w/ arrest records ripping you off, working in cohort w/ a shady office worker, (running circle around the unknowing office mgr). constant traffic, bus, shady hotel across the street (the street people), constant harassment by tenant dog owners urinating by you unit all day, everyday on purpose (how is it you see the same agitating people (dog owners) outside YOUR window (2 feet away) everyday and they live clear across the compound? b/c they walk a mile to harass YOU. If you go to the hospital and don't pay the rent. before your family can come to pick up your things, the shady office worker sends the janitors to get the pc's, t.v. washer-dryer anything of value then when the family shows up everything of value is gone. So the family complains to the office mgr: then the mgr tells the family no-one has been in their w/o office permission and I didn't give permission. Then there's a standstill w/ the "shady office worker(not the office mgr) and the janitor looking on like we just work here (we don't have nothing to do w/ this)." Sure like the old woman/man sold their belonging up the street, the family has no recourse. Also if you move in you are allowed a person on your lease (occupant space), but if for ANY reason you met someone new, they try to charge you 100.00 extra (big rip-off), considering you're already are allowed a occupant space, whats the different between the occupant space before and the occupant space after, it's still the occupant space (one person), but the office uses this as a dagger to stick you. Many moved out. Total chaos.
Lived here for 6 months. I can say the maintenance guys were extremely helpful and quick to assist. The fact that I know this tells you that several things broke. We got a 2 bed 2 bath town home and rented a refrigerator. When we showed up to move in there was no refrigerator and it took them 3 days to get one for us. The workout room was small but nice until the treadmill broke 4 months into our stay. I checked a month after it was reported to them and it was still broken. They have 2 pools which are cold, but refreshing. I'm not sure who had the bright idea to resurface one of them on the Fourth of July weekend, but that overcrowded the other pool. Also, with the town home the living quarters were on the second floor, with the garage beneath, so our electricity bill was about $150 on average, mostly due to the A/C having to run 8-10 hours per day. Plan on spending a little extra to keep the place cool. But we did like the setup because if there was any crime the intruder would have to come up a single stairwell to get to us, so we felt pretty safe. I can't say I hated the place. I would still say if you are looking for a garage this place isn't bad at all. Rent is a bit higher than other areas, but overall no real complaints. The biggest distaste came after we left. We paid $1150 security deposit, plus $500 non-refundable pet deposit and $25/mo pet rent for a cat. The disposition of the security deposit didn't mention the $500 or the pet rent. They charged $200 to paint things that didn't need to be painted. Garage walls and doors and stuff. They charged $807 to replace carpet due to pet stains. I can understand this is courteous to just have it replaced, but I think some of that $800 should come out of the $500 pet deposit, not all out of my security deposit. So in the end, I got $63 back from $1800. I read previous reviews saying they would keep your security deposit, but thought maybe it was a review from a disgruntled resident. They were absolutely right. First time I have ever not gotten back my security deposit.
I thought the reviews were wrong, NOT!!I read the reviews but thought it was just mad residents,WRONG. I went there and was shown the SHOW apts. Everything was clean, new, fresh just like they said. We took the application and started to leave. My wife suggested we walk around the grounds without the management escort, to get a real feel of the place. I am so glad we did!!We got into our car and instead of leaving, we pulled around to the back parking lot and parked. We spent about an hour walking around and talking to whomever would talk back. What we saw and heard made us rethink about moving in. We have decided to go ANYPLACE else.Walking through the grounds we saw apts that use their patios to store garbage. The garbage areas had trash thrown on, around and near the trash dumpsters because it looked like the dumpsters were overfull. Graffiti on parking posts and on the back walls.Large dogs barking down at you from the balconies (we counted 3 Pitt Bulls and 1 Doberman Pincher) even though it states on the application, No dogs over 20 lbs. The music was so loud and the bumping bass was giving me a headache. Tried to talk to several people, only to be given blank stares. Finally got 2 older men to talk about the complex and what they had to say was not very nice.It seems that you pay water, trash and sewage to a private company. Only, they didn't tell anyone that they were setting up their OWN company and forgot to stop the other company from billing. People paying the original utility company, are now getting another bill, from Town Square, for the same period and the new bill being charged is alot higher!! When they talked to JAMIE, the manager of the apartments, her response was, Well, how am I suppose to know who is paying the old company. Main problem is that only the management of the apartments can stop the billing, tell the utility who to bill and not to bill. JAMIE and the TOWN SQUARE APARTMENTS didn't even bother to tell the residents that they were forming their own Water Billing system to warn the residents not to pay the old company.JAMIE, the on site manager, even told the residents that it was up to them to try to get their money back from the original company, It's not the responsibility of this company to help get your money back. But, in the mean time, the tenants are responsible for the new bills. The gentlemen we spoke with said that the billing dates were from 12/31/2012 - 2/27/13, received in the mail on 2/28/13 and due 3/01/13. Late charges to be applied if late. When they called the old company, they said that they billed WHO they were to bill, charged WHAT they were told to bill and WHEN the management company told them to bill. If you want your money back, it is up to the Management Company, Town Square Apartments, dba AMARGOSA APARTMENTS. It sounds to me like, no matter how nice the SHOW APARTMENTS are, keep looking! Look around the grounds without the management puppets. Look at the patios and Garbage area for how they are kept, old trash mean COCKROACHES! Talk to the residents, if they will talk back. Walk around the parking areas and the play area. See the trashy upkeep of the apartments and what they actually allow. Hear the noise of the people you will be living near.Yes, on the outside, this place looks nice but, when you actually walk the complex or talk to the residents, this place IS a GHETTO IN LANCASTER!! KEEP LOOKING, YOU'll find a lot nicer places.
I moved in during June '12. Apts. that are shown, make a very good FIRST impression but, after living here, I wish I took a different apartment in a DIFFERENT complex. I was told that the apt was freshly painted and carpets cleaned but, when the maintenance man showed me the apt on move in day, I pointed out the Pink paint stains on living room carpet, food splatters on kitchen ceiling and dirt and urine stain in corners of bathroom wall. Maint. Man told me I could either take this apt and have them do the repairs after move-in or delay moving until they did work. I have already signed the lease and was stuck. I had already given up my other place and had no choice. When you move in, you are given a check list for things that need work. I filled it out and gave them permission to come in and fix these issues: bathrooms & kitchen faucet leak, bathroom drain doesn't(!), kitchen light switch is stiff to flip on, the light flickers, porch light has not worked since I moved in. I think it only needs a bulb change but, I'm still waiting! Was told, because of ins, I couldn't change it.In the 7 months I have lived here, I have called 4 times about the repairs & was told each time that I was on the list and they were working on the list.Apts changed owners, manager, same maintenance, office assist. 2 more calls and an in person request to get the items fixed. Got the same story so I told them that they no longer had authorization to enter without letting me know ahead of time. Was told that they would call for appt. but, light would be fixed. LOL. 28 days later, no calls and my porch light (that is OUTSIDE and don't need to enter apt to fix) is still out!! The new owners are spending a lot of money on outside cosmetic work to make the apts nice on outside to bring in new tenants but, Nothing to retain the tenants that are here.I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MY LEASE IS UP!!There are a lot of nicer, better maintained apts out there. Pass this one up!!
