I went to this office on December 12, 2012 for a follow up visit to be prescribed a pain med for a documented condition that I’ve had for 4 years. I paid $100 cash for the visit and all I received was a 15 minute 3rd degree interrogation due to my seeking pain meds for my GP Doctor last month. I’m supposed to deploy to Afghanistan for 6 months as a contractor, I can no longer deploy because I know what kind of conditions are there from my previous 18 months I spent there in a war zone and my condition requires management of the pain.
So today I spent 2 hours driving round trip to this Lancaster, CA office, paid $100 cash to be denied treatment and literally interrogated over my medical history. I asked for a refund of the $100 cash and they said NO. I understand their prerogative to prescribe or not to prescribe, I don’t mind the driving either but to interrogate someone like they did and keep the $100 for doing nothing is beyond comprehension, humiliating & uncalled for. This means they make $400 an hour, they hardly earn it and these guys are not full doctors either.
This is one decorated Gulf War Veteran that will never return to this office. Through their efforts to try and screen out the people that misuse prescription pain medication from true patients, they have allowed a legitimate pain sufferer, veteran to go on suffering without being prescribed.
Not only have they made the wrong decision not to treat me, they have forced me to cancel my deployment to Afghanistan. My advice to anyone seeking this kind of medical treatment, I’d advise you seek help elsewhere as they will most likely treat you as guilty and a misuser of pain meds versus trying to understand your legitimate situation. It’s too bad so many people misuse pain meds, they’ve made the industry tough for legitimate people to get help and you like me, might get labeled as not legitimate if you frequent this office. In the spirit & interest of helping others, I will be cut and pasting this story to every site I can find and creating a new webpage devoted to this.

Dr. Thia is an awesome and caring Dr. Danny Jones P.A. is also good, However their staff is a bit of a nightmare, and has been changed a few times. Never do they answer the phone, and are very cold to their clients. I have even had one treat me pretty nasty. This is supposed to be a business, but the staff treats it like their own clinic, and not the doctors. For a pain mngmt facility, they don't care too much about the pain their clients are in, Dr Thia. if you read this, you should have a closer look @ your staff and how they treat your patients.
Incompetent staff. The office manager is NEVER there and apparently he is the ONLY one who can handle things even make/fax copies. They rarely answer the phone and the message machine is always full. Leaving a message is not an option. Dr. Lao is uncaring and cold and shows no concern for his patients. I felt like a mannequin on the table! Dr. Thia is a nice and caring Physician who heads the facility, unfortunately he is running a circus and the stress of having to deal with his staff is just crazy making!! Find another facility!
