It’s a awful school. The children don’t learn they just sit all day. The owner is controlling with a abusive record if you look up her name in the system. They have no curriculum and tell everybody they are a school. It’s under a Day Care License and always has been. Check your sources.

First thing first I love everything about Mr. And Mrs. Ballena and her staff. Its a family when you start your journey there. The learning activities she teach is wonderful, outstanding and the kids are happy to be there. I wouldn't choose to put my son anywhere else, but here. My child has improved so much, from educational, stepping out of being shy, and improving his vocabulary. Its just a great place to have your family apart of. Also its very organize, on time, and well managed. I don't know how Mr. And Mrs. Ballena does it, but they do it very well. A+ xoxo
PARENTS PLEASE BE AWARE...DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!It is a very long story so I will start with the trauma my two year old son suffered there. My son had a speech delay, said a few words. Many staff members were in their late teens/early twenties without any formal education in early childhood development. Therefore, no knowledge of how to recognize or handle or teach kids with delays or special needs. Drop my son off, he used to walk right into the classroom without incident. One day there was a new staff member. First intro, this person did not open her mouth to speak but instead gave me the most unfriendly and cold look. By the next week, my baby did not want to enter the class. By the next week, he would hug my legs tightly to not let me go. I asked the head teacher was anything going on to why he would act this way, she said no. By the next week, he continued to do the above but now he started to cry when I started to leave. I knew in my heart something wasn't right but did not want to think negatively because after all he couldn't possibly be in any danger, this is a Christian school on church grounds, no one there could be so cruel, right? Is what I asked myself. Over the next couple of days this person told me my son will not listen & behaved inappropriately. Well immediately I corrected my son's behavior and told her I didn't understand why he would behave this way because this was out of his character. I asked the head teacher, how is his behavior, she said "he follows directions very well, we have no problems with his behavior". A few days later, he came home with a fresh bruise between his neck and shoulder in the shape of an adult thumb. I told the director about this. I was very upset and mortified. Childhood development 101 and common sense will tell you that when a child is nonverbal and unable to communicate their needs, wants, fears, feelings etc., they tend to act out in an effort to communicate these things and in this case, this was his way to say I do not like, trust or feel safe with this person. She apologized. My child started to have night terrors. Whenever there were anyone yelling or screaming on T.V., he would scream and cry at the top of his lungs with this look of terror on his face, run & jump into my arms while shaking uncontrollably, wrapping both arms around me, squeezing my neck so tight, I would cry with him while telling him "it's ok, you are safe now, you are with mommy and daddy, there is no need to be afraid anymore, you are ok". I had to do this for the next two and half months until my baby realized that he was safe now and that everything is ok. My kid was traumatized by events there. My husband was so upset, he went there to speak to the director. Needless to say she apologized and said that the school couldn't afford to hire anyone with degrees and that the young ladies was all they could afford. After much needed time off to help mend was had been broken in my sweet, loving affectionate little boy, we eventually placed him at another Daycare 6 months ago. At no time, not once has this Daycare reported any inappropriate behaviors. In fact, the reports I receive is my baby is smart, loving, affectionate, plays well with other children and is very careful to be gentle and/or careful around the smaller children. As I write this, I can barely see due to the constant flowing tears that runs down my face! I am a Christian and I was raised to do unto others as you would have them to do unto you. I have prayed for Sonshine Factory staff, I am surrendering and putting them in God's hands becuase I believe although man can be creative and finds and think of ways to deliver justice or vengeance, I believe no man/woman can deliver justice or vengeance like God can, there is no comparison!!! I was compelled to share our story so that others who are trusting the most precious and invaluable thing/little person to this place, you might want to think twice!
It is a very good school and teachers specifically Ms Sue and Ms Neelu are experienced and exceptional . My kids learnt a lot and are ahead of the peers at current school due to the hard work of teachers at Lancaster Montessori schoolI would highly recommend it for all young beginners
This children's center is filled with a loving, long term staff who is attentive and kind. It's been in this location a long time and feels like home.
The best, if not one of the best, daycare in the Antelope Valley for care, fun & safety. Your child will be well taken care of and taught to the highest standards while still having fun doing it.
This daycare and preschool focuses on education and fun! Loving staff and educated owner. Best place in the Antelope Valley by far and my child love's it there.
A great learning experience for your child, please contact us for an appointment to review the Facility.
My son has been going to "Children R First" since he was 2 years old. He will start kindergarten in the fall. And he is ready. The owner is kind and well educated. My son runs into school every morning.
Absolutely wonderful child care provided by the Ballena Family and their staff. Perfect blend of structure, fun, learning, caring environment & flexible hours. After many, many visits to home daycare centers we chose this one because of cleanliness, friendliness, and curriculum. My 2 girls started going when they were just 5 months & 2 years old, they enjoyed & looked forward to every day there & I enjoyed the peace of mind knowing they were well taken care of while I was away. The level of care and teaching was above my expectations of any type of daycare facility. Even though It's been almost 2 years since we've moved away, my girls still remember & miss their caregivers, the Ballena Family & their staff have created so many wonderful lifetime memories for them. I have struggled since then to find someone comparable to them but, sorry to say, none has come close. Thank you sooooo much Ballena Family Child Care for the wonderful care you provide :)
