This is the worst service from a moving company that I have ever experienced. I requested that my items be picked up from storage in Kent, WA before noon on July 29th and someone would meet them since I moved to GA. It was confirmed but the drivers showed up at 4:30pm. My half full 10'x10' storage estimated at 200 sq ft required an additional 85 sq ft and the additional charge of $380+. After arguing I agreed to the additional amount and a delivery date of August 5th. Little did I know they would add an additional 14 to 21 days after my selected delivery date. I had to leave town and rescheduled delivery by August 30th. After not receiving my storage I sent emails and made phone calls but the mail box was full. Finally I get a call from the driver and my storage was delivered on September 3, 2017. The driver informed me that he traveled from Florida to WA to pick up my storage. The driver is not local as they claimed - only the business is in WA. The driver could not get his truck down my street so I rented a Uhaul for them to unload the moving truck or he would charge me $300 more dollars to rent a moving truck. My son and I helped one hired person unload the items into the Uhaul while the driver checked off the items. The contract called for two people to unload the truck and move the items into the house. The lazy driver went back and set in the truck while his hired help unloaded the Uhaul with me and my son. After opening the damaged boxes, including the ones marked fragile, there were several broken items and a missing items that Golden Valley could not find in its warehouse. I took pictures and put in a claim for the broken and missing item and for reimbursement for helping to unload the moving van. If I had known the service would be this bad I would had signed up for the full insurance coverage instead of the .60 per pound. This is an insight of what will occur if you use this company. Be aware!
Do not use this company. Denise quoted me an amount for the move. I took it and set up a move date. When that day showed, a female named Christine from the moving company said that Denise was wrong and that the cost has doubled. I had no choice but to use them. Their little write up about the golden rule is a joke. My stuff is still in storage with them because I can't afford to get it yet. They're just waiting to rip you off.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I hired them for a cross country from Seattle to DC. My belongings were picked up in Seattle on July 18th to be delivered in DC. Today is September 7th and I have yet to receive it. Not only did your company break their contract, they have showed me some the worst customer service I have ever experienced. When inquiring about where my belongings were, or if there was an estimated delivery date, I was pushed off to customer service. When I called customer service their voice mailbox was full. I called repeatedly until I got through, about a week after initially reaching out. Speaking with them, they seemed to have no idea what was going on and they were shocked that my truck was so far behind schedule. When my belongings were finally loaded onto a truck, I was given my truck drivers phone number. When I texted here to get an approximate delivery date her response was "Are you kidding me."I have never been so displeased with a company. During my last conversation with customer service I was told that I would receive some sort of compensation for this incredible inconvenience and the broken contract. However, she quickly tried to get me off the phone before giving me any details of how I would be compensated and told me she would call me back. That was last week.
Jesus, Dave Jr. & 'M' were an awesome team! We are a dual military family, and have seen our fair share of moves. These guys SET THE STANDARD. We especially appreciated their prompt, professional, polite, efficient, and careful service. I've never seen a team so detail oriented; they really took the time to CAREFULLY wrap items and protect them prior to moving. Inventory was clear and detailed, and they even dissembled a giant desk instead of removing the doorframe to move the desk out of our office (I was previously told desk doesn't come apart). These guys are TOP NOTCH. I wish we could use them for EVERY move!!!
Golden valley van lines packed my entire old apartment into a truck and unloaded everything in my new apartment in 13 days as promised. They stuck to their timeframe, delivered on the day they said they would and I paid exactly what they estimated I would pay. They are efficient and hardworking. No gimmicks or hidden fees. I don't plan on moving again anytime soon, but if I had to I will definitely call them again.
I used Golden valley van lines to move my friend's things to another state and they seemed to be the best company to provide interstate services. I was a little worried but they did an amazing job moving our things. They did it exactly within the time they said they would. It was efficient and the movers were all super friendly, which is a nice change in pace from the impersonal people I used once before. I would recommend these movers to anyone I know moving- because the price was one I couldn't beat by calling elsewhere and they did a wonderful job!
I hired Golden valley van lines to move me simply because the customer service was remarkable. The representative that I spoke to assured me that my furniture would arrive at its destination in time and she was right. The movers handled my household goods in a respectful manner. The movers who handled my move were very efficient and professional. I will definitely recommend these guys to everyone.
For frequent movers like me, it’s important to find a moving company who suits your needs and stick with them. Thankfully, I have found my match. I hired Golden valley van lines 3 times now and they always did great works. Their men are always very organized and efficient. I have a lot of trust in this company which took time to build over the years. Frankly, I wouldn’t hire any other company simply because this company knows about me and my valuables a lot more. In the end of the day, loyalty still means something to this world.
I didn’t know much about Golden valley van lines. A friend of mine had previously hired them and he highly recommended them. So I had to hire them to move my belongings. I called them and it was really easy to book a slot. The movers arrived right on time and they were hardcore professionals. They efficiently packed up everything from my apartment. I am not the most efficient person in the world. So it’s always a shock seeing how fast and efficiently people can work. They made the delivery on time and all my belongings made it intact. Everyone should just hire these guys and relax throughout their moves.
I just wanted a moving company that would be efficient while being affordable. Golden valley van lines was just that. Their quote was just amazingly low. The men who arrived on time were very skilled and efficient. They packed all my belongings correctly and loaded them to the van. It was excruciating when I had to wait for 3 days to receive the delivery. Luckily, the delivered right on schedule! I checked the inventory list and everything was delivered correctly. All my furniture was undamaged and I was so happy. I got what I wanted from them and it made me very happy.

For both local and long-distance moving companies, AMSA is another good place to check out a company's legitimacy. Moving companies aren't required to be an AMSA member, but the ones that are have committed to the association's rules and regulations, which protect both the companies and the consumers hiring them. If a company isn't an AMSA member, that doesn't mean it isn't reputable, but an AMSA membership is a clear indication of legitimacy.

The subject of tipping is relatively unclear when it comes to movers. However, there is a general rule of thumb that most people in the industry agree on: Tip your movers if they've done a good job and you think a tip is warranted.
Generally, a 5 percent tip is considered appropriate, though some people recommend paying $20 per day, per mover for basic, local moves. However, almost everyone agrees you should first do a quick walk-through of your home to check for any damage to your furniture or belongings and to make sure everything is where you'd like it to be.
If you do decide to give a tip, divide it evenly and give money to each individual, rather than giving the entire sum to the head mover and expecting it to be doled out equally. One type of tip to avoid: alcohol. It's usually illegal for movers to have bottles of alcohol in the truck or van, so tipping a bottle of wine or liquor could get them into trouble.
