My dad has been in this facility twice. The first time was 6 months ago and it was a good experience. He’s back in there now and it’s horrible! The cleanliness is terrible. There’s No trash bags in the trashcan’s. But they leave used to catheter bags etc. in the cans, souled linens in the trash cans etc. We’ve pushed the button for help and waited for hours and finally have to go to the nurses station to get help. The nurses act like it’s normal for that kind of care. When you ask the.nurses question most of the time they have no answers. My dads catheter was broken and urine all over the place after the aid and I bother told the nurse she left and went to Starbucks. When she came back she still didn’t do anything about it until I got the charge nurse to fix it. They’ve missed his breathing treatments and is wasn’t in the notes. We wouldn’t have known if we wouldn’t have found the medicine in the machine where it had been left and not given to him. His breathing treatments and medications are late more than on time. It’s been extremely frustrating and when you try to complain there’s no one in authority to get help from. There’s at least one family member with my dad from 5 to 9 hours every day. I can’t imagine what the care would be like for the people that doesn’t have anyone there to look out for them.

Their help is awful! They don't respond to call lights, they don't bath them properly, they throw urine soaked clothes anywhere but in the bag hanging in the closet for them. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! Whenever a patient asks for anything, the CNA's say they will be right back and you never see them again!😑😑😑

Careful what they promise.

The facility is only concerned with making money. The new administrator is a total Jerk! He has absolutely no compassion towards his residents and has been heard screaming at employees and families. There should be no place in healthcare for someone who isn't there to help. If you want to run it like a business learn the concept of customer service!

Don't listen to unfair review - make up your own mind

If you are looking for a rehab center or nursing home, take a tour and look at the place for yourself. We have been very happy here, and have also witnessed some families have a hissy fit over what they thought was unfair treatment which was really more their guilt and fear over their loved ones being sick. I've seen these same people have their dad stay for months and leave thanking the staff for all their help and the wonderful experience they had. Just like everywhere, some people and families are nasty and take it out on the staff. It's not the Ritz Carlton, and your dad doesn't have a personal chef or sitter. The place is clean, the staff care. Nothing is perfect - look at other places and see if they are any better, and I don't think you will find that to be the case.

Wedgewood is by far the worst nursing facility I have ever dealt with. Disregard the one star as a rating of some sort is required on this site.

You can't contact your family member cause they have no phones in their room. You can't get to talk to a nurse because they put you on hold and then hang up. They have doctors on staff who change the admitting doctors orders. Patients who are immobile do not get turned every 2 hours which is necessary so they do not develop bedsores. They do not make sure that patients eat, or help them if they are unable to feed themselves.

No one likes to see their loved on in a nursing home, but as in the case of rehab after surgery it is sometimes necessary. How can the staff allow this to go on? My parent (the patient) had spinal surgery lasting 10 hours. After being in ICU for 2 weeks was moved to Wedgewood. They did not answer the call button and my parent tried to get out of bed and FELL OUT OF THE BED!!! Who knows how long they were left on floor. What dammage has been done to their spine? I spoke to the unit manager and she assured me the patient was having all the things done that their doctor ordered, yet when my parent went to visit their spouse, they found the total opposite had been done. This parent is a retired nurse and knows what is and isn't supposed to be done. They have excellent communication with the patient's doctor and understand his order completely. The doctor was livid at finding out that his orders were changed.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT allow your loved one to be placed in this facility.

best place to work

I just found this web site I dont believe that NO ONE would leave someone that just had heart surg. alone to have a shower, sometimes family feels guilty for their love ones in a nursing home/rehab center to began with. Our jobs as cna are very hard and at times its not the resident that is giving us the hard time but the family members because they feel guilty. This is a clean and everyone i work with is like family we all work together and help one another with team work. Your family member will get tlc when they are at wedgewood health care and rehab. I know my family member was there.

Do not send your parent or spouse there for rehab

Patients sent there after heart surgery are left alone to shower, many times the medications prescribed are not available. Patients subjected to verbal and emotional abuse.
