General Info

Gregory M. Ruster provides services exclusively in the area of family and domestic relations law. Mr. Ruster has more than 30 years experience in this field. The firm is committed to bringing you professional, comprehensive and aggressive representation in the areas of divorce, parenting plan and time sharing disputes (formerly referred to as custody and visitation disputes), child support, alimony, paternity, and modifications of your previous court ordered obligations. Mr Ruster earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of South Florida in 1972. In 1976 he earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. While in law school he participated in numerous school activities, as well as assisted in teaching a legal research /legal writing course for legal assistants and paralegal from various law offices in the Birmingham area. Between his junior and senior year of law school he interned in the summer of 1975 with the Tenth Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office in Bartow, Florida. Mr. Ruster was also a member of The International Legal Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi. Mr. Ruster was admitted to the practice of law in Florida in November 1976. He immediately went into private practice specializing in family law and criminal defense, In 1987 Mr. Ruster opened his own firm and began to exclusively concentrate on his family law practice. Since being admitted to the Florida Bar, Mr. Ruster has been involved over the years as a member of several legal organizations, such as the American Inns of Court Foundations, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, Polk County Trial Lawyers, Lakeland Bar association, Polk County Family Law Bar Association, and several other local committees concerning Tenth Judicial Circuit family law issues. Mr. Ruster has also served two terms as a member of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Florida Bar Greivance Committee from 1989 to 1991 and again from 2002 to 2005, when he served as Chairpers
