We wanted to have a wonderful New Years Eve dinner and have always gone to Louie Mack Steakhouse. However last night was a disaster from the time we entered the door until dinner was over. They lost our reservations, they were aout of baked potatoes at 7:30 PM on a holiday, they brought masked potatoes when we ordered fries after not being able to have what we actually wanted, steaks were not cooked properly and the server was less than enthusiastic. Terrible experience and we will not be going back. It lacked everything from atmosphere to good food. We were definitely disappointed after spending a lot of money for the dinner. This is supposed to be a high end restaurant however could have done better at Out Back, Long Horns, or Cattlemans Country.
I recently dined at Louie Mack's and I think these old reviews are a bit dated. My girlfriend and I had a great meal and great service. I have heard that the problems of poor management in the past had been solved and I would have to agree. It was my first experience at Louie Mack's and I must say we had a great time and will definitely go again.

The worst dining experience we have had in a long time (except for the great conversation we had with our friends). Three out of four steaks our party ordered had to be sent back to the kitchen 2 times to get them done correctly, and when they finally got them right inside the outsides were almost charcoal. The manager came out a couple of times but was only mildly apologetic.
Don't waste your time or money. If you want steak in Lakeland, go to Longhorn, for better quality and service at a lower price.

I had eaten here a year and half ago and I was telling everyone that I had one of the best steaks I had every tasted. I am so sorry that I have sent my friends to this steak house! I picked it to celebrate my Birthday with my wife and a few friends. The fact that we waited over 45 mins to get our entrees is totally unacceptable. Then there is the food, no one at the table had anything they enjoyed, the porterhouse steaks were not cooked as ordered, they were tough and unseasoned, the prime rib (no way was it USDA Prime) was dry and old tasting. The side items at $6 each were uneatable, the creamed spinach was undercooked frozen spinach with grated cheese on top, the mashed potatoes were so over processed they were like gummy baby food, sautéed onions (now how can any cook screw this up) were barely cooked and crunchy! This all came with an average check of $73 per person! You want a great meal in Lakeland, go to the Terrace Hotel in Old Town Lakeland.
Is this S*&%! hole still open, wow I'd have thought that after having roaches crawl across the table.
Management not coming to the table at any given time. The Health Department would have shut it down.
Well ladies and gentlemen if your looking for a good case of food poisoning, this is the place. After having dined there
having the roaches on the table, calling the next day cause no management was in sight. I spoke to a woman claiming
to be the general manager. I believe her name was Missy or Misty, she wasn't very clear when she spoke her name.
I came away with the impression that she didn't care. Having done a little investigation, I have found out there have been
several filed complaints. Check it out for yourself. If you don't really like yourself then have at it.
