I called Cool Now for routine service for my AC system (nothing wrong with it). The tech showed up and cleaned the compressor. Then he tested the electrical components. He told me that the capacitor was out of spec. I believed him. He said I should sign up for a 1 year service contract, then I would not have to pay the $60 delivery fee for the cap (which was on his truck), so I agreed to the contract and replacement of the capacitor. He installed a 45+7.5 mf capacitor which was not the correct one for my AC compressor. Carrier specifies a 60+7.5 mf capacitor. So he replaced the cap that was slightly out of spec with one that was WAY OUT OF SPEC. He also sold me a UV tube for the air handler, when my old one was most likely still good. So about two years later, that out of spec capacitor fails and I'm left without AC. I called a local company this time and in less than 5 minutes, the tech finds the bad capacitor.
If I were you, I would avoid this company like the plague!
We couldn't be more unhappy with this company and their service. We were lied to multiple times, no one ever returns our calls, and they never show up when they are supposed to. I'm so disappointed and regret ever using them. I have so many friends needing ac repairs this summer and I've warned them all to stay away. I never leave bad reviews because I know things happen but I was burned so many times from them, I felt I needed to warn others.
Joe D. was extremely knowledgable and took the time to explain what he was doing. He gave me all of my options upfront and let me take the time to decide what I wanted to do. I am impressed with companies that do not use scare tactics or high pressure sales. This company was a little bit more expensive but for the quick service and the extra's that they do, it was worth it. I told him that I needed a tune up while he was there and he did it for free as I was worried about the cost going up. Very satisfied with my experience. He gave me his cell phone and said to call him anytime to make sure the system was running properly.
