Nice family meal at a great price. Value as I used to remember. This place took me back 40 years and was a highlight of our trip to Lake Placid! Great hiking trails to lake placid right in the back of the HoJo parking lot! Go visit this place ASAP and take the whole family!

We have been to the Lake Placid HoJo's many times over the years and it is always good. The fried clams are great and a HoJo's classic. Every time we have had the food bar, the food that is supposed to be hot is hot (not lukewarm!) and the cold food is cold. The French Toast on the breakfast bar is hot! That is hard to do. They seems to be constantly checking it and removing old food and bringing out new. HoJo's is also fully licensed so you can enjoy an adult beverage with dinner while the kids enjoy the ice cream desserts.

I'm laughing as I write this because, believe it or not, we had a very decent experience here. Our party of four (2 adults and 2 kids) stopped by for lunch on saturday, the day before Easter. Not much else is open in the area this time of year so.... Hojos won. We were seated fairly quickly, and the older lady waitress was very sweet and patient. The food was actually good! We didn't get anything too difficult: I got a dill chicken sandwich- the chicken had been seasoned nicely and cooked on a grill, served with lettuce, tomato and onion on a yummy bun, with pretty decent fries and a dill mayo. He got a steak and mushroom hero, which was equally yummy. The picky kid didn't get anything but the French fries were apparently up to snuff because she ate off of everyone's plate. The other kid got a cheeseburger and it was much better than the weird meat she got the previous night at the wilderness inn. So, although we didn't order anything very inventive, I would say it was good enough that we would return.
By far the best hotel experience I have ever had! We traveled to Lake Placid in Mid December 2013 and were more than pleased with our stay. The hotel lobby was wonderfully designed keeping with the Adirondack vibe. Giving that it was Christmas time, the lobby was also beautifully decorated for the holiday season. There is a beautiful fireplace inside with a firepit outside as well. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable (what else can you ask for). The breakfast buffet was better than average and provided a variety of options including hot and cold foods. Also 24 access to fresh brewed coffee or hot water for hot chocolate was also a plus. I would highly recommend this hotel and the morning view overlooking Mirror Lake and the mountains is stunning.
