Dr. James E. Oxer, a native of Lake Placid, Florida, graduated from the University of Florida in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. Upon graduation, he entered the U.S. Army where he served eight years as a helicopter instructor pilot. He departed the Army in June 1995 as a Captain to enter dental school at the University of Florida. He graduated with honors in 1999 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and returned to Lake Placid to practice. Dr. Oxer has completed a yearlong continuum in Implant Dentistry at the Center for Implant Dentistry at the University of Florida. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and is a past officer in the Highlands County Dental Association. Doctor William. N. Shriner, a native of Indiana, graduated from the University of Illinois in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Physics. Upon graduation he and his wife Joyce lived in Ecuador for two years working with the Peace Corps. In 1970 Dr. Shriner graduated with honors from the Indiana School of Dentistry. He and his wife and three children have lived in Lake Placid since 1971. He has been active in establishing mission dental clinics and providing dental treatment in remote areas of the Dominican Republic. Dr. Shriner is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, and the Highlands County Dental Associ

        I received the best dental care at this office. I have spent thousands on my teeth but this office is the friendliest and most professional I have experienced. Dr. Oxer clearly explained the procedure I needed. I appreciated the face to face explaination. I called as a complete stranger for a dental emergency and was seen within 24 hours and the work was done quickly and professionally. I also felt the charge was more than fair....much less than expected. I highly recommends this office for any dental work. I feel like family.

        I saw Dr. Oxer 2 years ago. Their office was imaculate, the office help were friendly and efficient and the chairside assistants were extremely well trained and did a lot of the work. I had an extreme amount of work done and although it was costly, I feel the work done was worth the cost. I will return again this winter and would recommend Dr. Oxer and his staff to everyone.
