I have used Naomi's for years...to find

I have used Naomi's for years...to find that perfect replacement lamp shade (they have a nice selection)....to find a nicer finial (so many to choose from)...to buy a new lamp when I need one (it's always the first place I look for a unique or stylish lamp), or to have a lamp CUSTOM MADE. Naomi's touts that you can make a lamp from many common objects and they REALLY do have the skills and materials to make it happen. I once brought them two Italian painted glass vases which I had bought at Pier 1 (because of the unique pattern and colors) and asked if they could be made into lamps. I worked with one of the staffers to select a base, harp, shade, finial and hardware (you can even choose the color of the cord & plug...a significant option for me since I hate ugly cords that clash with my room's color palette). While they couldn't guarantee that the glass could be drilled (for the cord) without breakage, I was willing to take the risk. The lamps are stunningly beautiful and make a strong decorative statement. I've gotten so many compliments on them. I wish I would have known about this shop sooner. I HIGHLY recommend Naomi's Lampshades & Lamps to anyone who loves light and is looking to repair a lamp, find parts for a lamp, change features on an existing lamp, or create a new lamp. I have used them for all of these needs and have always been very happy. They do quality work & use high quality materials. Whenever I have a need related to a lamp, they are my first choice. JudyW

Not helpful

I called Naomi's to get an idea on whether or not a lamp base could be altered. The woman on the phone was very short with me and wanted to see the lamp before she would answer any questions. Okay, that's reasonable I thought. When I took the lamp into the shop the woman just looked at it briefly and said rudely ""we can't alter that."" I tried to explain my thoughts about a possible way to alter it but was told again ""we don't do that."" This woman was so rude I couldn't believe it. I will never go there again.

Faulty Switches

I love the ladies there, they have great style and are terrific at choosing the perfect shades and accessories for all of my lamps. They made a pair of lamps for me and right away the switches did not turn on or off properly. I took them back and the lady told me she does not like the 2 way switch they installed because they are unreliable. They explained that they do not guarantee any of the parts they use and offered to sell me two new 3 way switches at full price ($22 each) and to replace them including full price labor charges too. I expected more from them and have made many lamps there over the years. When you spend $200 for a shade and base etc...and labor it should work.
