Nader Moinfar, MD: Retina Specialist

I first went to Dr. Moinfar on an emergency basis with a torn retina in 2000. He cleared his appointments for the afternoon in order to take care of me. I was in his office for six hours because the tear was in an awkward location. The first procedure did not work, so he had to try a second, which also did not work. But he kept at it, and doing a third different procedure, he saved my eye. Several years later, again on an emergency basis, I came in with a detached retina. Same story--he saved my eye a second time. Besides the bottom line, he had great bedside manners. It has to be tough working on the eyes of "scared" patients like me. His quiet confidence calmed me, and ensured me that everything was going to be okay. Finally, I appreciated that he took the time to explain what he was doing. He's the best.

I have known Dr. Nader Moinfar since 2002 when I became his patient. I will not go to another retinal specialist as I plan to follow him to where ever he is practicing medicine.

I experienced a severe case of uveitis which eventually led to losing vision in one eye. After this event, I was introduced to Dr. Moinfar who initiated a treatment protocol which saved the vision in my other eye. Dr. Moinfar has been instrumental in tracking my eye health ever since. He has always made himself available to me or my wife if we had any questions regarding possible flare-ups due to adverse life events, such as a motor vehicle accident. We have found him to be a man of great integrity and compassion who will first listen and then respond to a patient or spouse’s specific concerns, taking time to explain options for treatment and making sure that everyone involved understands a specific optimum treatment process going forward.
