La Strada At Lake Lure

The best place to eat at Lake Lure. Been several times and never disappoints. The pizza is awsome, may take a little longer than the big chains but good quality always does. Any time I'm in Lake Lure it is a must to eat at.

Over priced...Over rated....menu lacks many things...kids menu is more on the adult side way to pricey ...go there only if you have more money than sense...

Best Pizza I've had down here in NC - the closest I've had to New England Pizza. We get the 16 inch "Brooklyn" hand tossed pizza and a Chef Salad. Wow! The crust is fantastic and the sausage is like nothing else you will find around here, sauce is awesome. The salad was fresh and this meal is enough food for at least 3 or 4 people. For around $40 you really cannot beat it... getting there is a joy, driving through the mountains with all of the great experience of enjoying some of the most beautiful driving... and as you sit there eating you overlook the famous Lake Lure (where Dirty Dancing was filmed). The staff is friendly and attentive and the owner is just awesome. Fantastic in every way! Do yourself a favor and try it out when you're in town.

You have just visited Lake Lure on Memorial Weekend, one of the three busiest weekends of the entire year. Our freshly brewed tea is warm when brewed and being so busy, we were brewing fresh batches of tea all day long. If the tea was not chilled enough, all you had to do was request additional ice from your server if you needed it.

Our pizza is made by hand and freshly baked. It takes approximately 20-25 minutes from start to finish. I'm sure that there were many other orders ahead of yours (both in the 240 seat dining room/patio and carryout) and it may have taken an extra 10 or 15 minutes before we even got to your order and that's with staffing as many cooks as can possibly fit on the cook's line. A few guests waited up to 45 minutes for their meals during peak volume times this weekend. This is the nature of Summer resort area restaurants on Summer holidays- every year. No matter where you dine, if you are unable or unwilling to wait a few extra minutes, I would recommend dining before or after peak dining hours or avoid dining out on holiday weekends.

We ate in La Strada yesterday. Ordered two ice teas and a 12" pizza. The ice tea was warm when arrived and the pizza took 35 minutes to get to our table. Food is delicious, but you must wait a long time to get it.

The guest complained to her server that she didn't like any part of her entree. She was offered another selection and chose not to order anything else. She said she would eat some of her husband's pizza. Although the entree is one of most popular pasta specials, Parmesan encrusted shrimp and grilled salmon over pesto angel hair, we apologized that she didn't like the dish and the entree was removed from the check. When the check was presented the guests became irate that the entire meal was not free. Wanting to speak to a manager, they then proceeded to complain about their disappointment. They were apologized to again and then started to complain that the pizza (which they finished) and child's spaghetti was terrible as well. The husband stood up and said That's it! You just comped this meal! (revealing his objective), refusing to pay the bill. When law enforcement was called the husband threw his payment on the floor and left before they arrived.

Although we strive to make every guest's experience exceptional, if an error is made on our part that negatively impacts a guest, we do everything within reason to make amends.

If it is just a matter of personal taste, as in this case, we are more than happy to accommodate with a different selection as replacement or removal from the bill if a selection is not eaten. In our 40 years in business, nearly all of our guests have found this policy reasonable and acceptable.

Went to LA Strada on a recommendation and was highly disappointed! As if the food wasn't bad enough, when we tried to address the manager with our concerns, he was beyond rude!!! This was the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced!

La Strada is the greatest hidden jewel on a hill in all of Lake Lure. I’ve eaten here several times and the Pizza is consistently wonderful, the grilled chicken sandwiches are amazing, and the Fettuccini Alfredo was very delightful as well. To top it all of the view is absolutely breathtaking! I highly recommend it to everyone.
