My dogs had tampered with a d-con tray and so I wasn't sure if they had eaten some bait or not,so I decided not to take any chances and took them to Mountainview becasue they were open until 9:00 PM at it was already 6:00 PM and other places were closed.

The cost for each dog was $50 for an exam, which is just sticking a thermameter in the dogs rear and weighing the animal. The vet then felt the dogs body, look inside their ears and looked at their gums but did not check my Rottweiler's gums becasue she was afraid! The dog had a mussel so there wasn't any chance to get bitten.

The injections of vitamin K1 totaled, for all three dogs, $135! They wanted to do blood work for $60 each, I'd have to do the treatment of K1 pills and injection anyway, why do the blood work?

Then came the K1 pills which they charged $239 for 231, 25 mg pills. I thought the price was a little high and so ask if I could find the medicine myself online. The doctor quickly jumped into the conversation between me and the nurse and explicitly said that vitamin K1 is expensive and they were charging me a fair price. She sounded so creditable, after all she is a medical professional and cares for sick animals, she has to be a saint right?

I trusted the doctor's word about vitamin K1 and she was absolutely wrong. I found K1 50 mg pills in bottles of 50 for $16.77 at VetDepot.com.

I will never trust a vet again and I will never take my dogs to Mountainview. Those people will try and fool you don't trust them...

We found MSAH back in early 2011 due to an emergency with one of our dogs (then was a puppy). Yes, they can be on the high dollar side sometimes, however, we were very impressed with the care and attention our dog received, and we've used them ever since for all 3 of our dogs. Our dogs are part of the family and Dr. Teresi, Dr. Jessup and team treats them as such and not just another file number. They have our trust, our dogs love them and we'll continue to be loyal clients.

This veterinarian is a slick snake oil sales person. She will out right lie to sell her pharmaceuticals. Beware, if you go there. There are far better places to take your loving pet.

This vet refused to take the extra care needed to help my pet. They made me feel very frustrated at the number of tests they wanted to perform and the huge expense for each test,

Thank You Mountainview you are wonderful

My husband and I are so relieved that dr. Teresi was there for us when we needed her. We took our puppy into canyon lake animal clinic to be spayed. The following Saturday our puppy had a open area of her stitch’s. I called every vet in the yellow pages and they all had no spaces left to see her. We called Mt view and the front desk was wonderful!!! They were booked but made room for us. We brought our puppy in to see them and where informed that she had a large infection and needed another surgery. Dr Teresi called us and went over what she had seen during the surgery. It was great to be in contact with the vet and be so informed. When we went to get Maci all of the people in the front were so happy to see us. They were all so kind to us and our puppy. Even with how upset we were with CL animal clinic. Dr Teresi was all about business. she never said anything bad about CL clinic. Witch we can’t say about the front desk people at canyon lake. WE RECOMEND MT VIEW TO EVERYONE!

Cha-ching! went the cash register

After moving here from Pasadena area, we were concerned when our dog started chasing his tail aggressively; something he hadn't done before as a puppy. We found the Mountainview Clinic in Elsinore which was open on that day...a Sunday. We think the doctor was competent, friendly, and dedicated; and the clinic is clean and sanitary. The doctor couldn't find anything physically wrong with the dog, however, because the tail-chasing thing is a common trait for this breed (which we only later discovered). But he managed to generate a bill of $178.00 by the time we left. Yes...we will bring in a wheelbarrow of cash for our next visit.

empty your wallet

I took my chihuahua he wanted to run all kinds of tests. I did not have the $ so knowing he was dehyrated, I decided to "treat" my dog myself. I rehydrated him with childrens pedialyte and fed the dog soft, easy to eat foods and within 3 days he was back to normal! I guess I was lucky but I have a hard time believing that a Veterinarian coulnt figure out that the dog was simply dehyrated. Instead, I paid $110 for an office visit and a pancreatic test and refused to pay an extra $500 to run other tests. I think he just wants to milk you for $ instead of giving you options. When I told his nurses about my plan to treat my own dog, they agreed and said, "thats what I would do".

A Terrible Experience

On 12/05/07 I took my dog in to Mountain View Small Animal Clinic due to a dog bite injury he had sustained from a neighbor's dog. I must say that the staff at the facility was pleasant, however, upon first speaking to Craig Hempel, I was immediately taken aback.

This guy was a jerk! I politely asked him where my regular doctor, Dr. Wentorth was, and he informed me that she was gone and that he was the doctor on staff and he would "just have to do". He also spoke to me in a condescending tone the whole time. However, I had had enough when my husband called from work to find out what was happening and I tried to apologize for taking the call, but informed Dr. Hempel that my husband was calling to find out how my dog was doing. To this, Dr. Hempel said, "I'm not dealing with him, I'm dealing with you! You go ahead and talk to him and then figure out what you're going to do!" I did not understand his hostility because this was the first and only time my husband had called during the visit, but I did not care to stay and find out what his problem was exactly. I gathered my things, paid for the office visit, and left. In short, Craig Hempel seems to be mentally unstable, and I wouldnt allow him to operate on my worst enemy, let alone mans best friend.

MSAH Used to be Good

Since Dr. Wentworth left the facility, this place has really gone down. Now, only Dr. Jessup and Dr. Hempel are there. Dr. Jessup has a pack 'em in, get 'em out attitude, and Craig Hempel is a complete and total smarthmouthed prick. They are also the most expensive place in town. I took my dogs there today (12/05/07 and ended up paying for what half-a$$ed services they did provide and leaving). Save your money and your pet's life--go somewhere else!

Happy Healthy Pets

I take all my animals here (dogs & cats) and they are always friendly and professional. They are very concerned for the comfort of the animal and practice low stress techniques.
