This company is a horrible place to rent from!!!!!! They have NO customer service and treat the renters badly. I have rented from them for just one year and have chosen to move because of the horrible way they have treated me. From getting fussed at for having one leg of my swing in the grass, to leaving me without air conditioner for three days and nights in July in 100+ degree heat. They said my issue was not an emergency situation because it was not a fire or flood. Nonetheless, finally on the third day and about thirty trips to the mall to cool off, my ac was fixed. Now they are saying they will not return my deposit because the mail did not deliver in time, my notice to them that i was not releasing for another year. The letter was dated and mailed out on Sept. 28, but not delivered on time and they will not take into consideration that it was dated September 28th. They got it on Oct 5th and kept my deposit, despite the fact that i was a good tenant and paid on time and even early on several occasions. This company has bad customer service and treats tenants badly. I am currently filing suit on them for my deposit and for other damages.
Personal experiences with Briken & Associates:1. Front desk person very unpleasant and "irritated" if bothered with questions or complaints2. Will not do an initial walk-through with you after signing3. After moving in, whatever problems the initial walk-through found were not acknowledged until the refrigerator started leaking4. God forbid you need to get out of your lease, no matter the reason: lost job, my company was ready to pay them 3-months rent to let us out of our lease, but they refused! In the end, after putting the house myself on Zillow and Craigslist, they were able to sign a new lease, but still collected from us AND the new lessee for a couple of weeks.Truly acting like a pack of hyenas smelling the blood (money): nothing professional to say about them.
My friends warned me about this manager named Marilyn but since we went to high school together I decided to trust her. To make a long story short: My application was past but she declined it after promising my caseworker to have a 4 bedroom available for me on Dec 1 2015. Since I'm using my HUD GRANT, it was a process, she gave me back a deposit I couldn't cash bc it was written to Lake Caroline, she wanted to put me in the house she wanted, not the house I wanted or HUD rules. We have no deposit receipt zeroing our, no home, lost time, no success. She tried to hide her hands by deleting me off her fb & not returning my calls. I just want my deposit or else give me my 4 bedroom house according to law. She belittled me & judged bc I used HUD & the next person didnt. I'm sick w Lupus, I'm way to tired to fight. If someone can take this to management-tri-star feel free!! Oan,She declined my app after my app past bc she didn't wanna deal w HUD no longer although she warned me that it was gonna take a while...but i still dud everthing they said & waited. She didn't care the children she's hurting. She denied my application before 60days Tuh smh. Bad ethical dealings, she judged against HUD GRANT for cash, according to her phone call to deny my application, after I paid all that money, for someone who had cash upfront. He wasn't even on the waiting list. Lake Charles can't support new Sasol workers. They are not on the list smh.
