After being referred to her by a friend, who's friendship I now question. I highly recommend to do more research before hiring Susan's sewing! We (my daughter and myself) did read the online reviews prior to hiring her and certainly didn't take them serious enough because we can certainly vouch for the bad service, her horrible attitude, her attroious punctuality and the garments reaping of cigarette smell! My daughter and I hired her to alter my daughter's wedding gown for an October wedding. My first contact with her was in May we had several phone conversations and many text messaging conversations. We were assured that she would only need a couple of weeks to make her alterations prior to the October 14th wedding. We met with her in late August. The dress was snug on my daughter and she blamed our bridal shop where we purchased the dress for selling us too small of a dress. Repeatly we heard her famous line of " Hear me out" I can fix the dress. She wanted to redesign the back of the gown from its original design. The only thing we wanted done was a low liner put in the back of the dress, a bustle and the front hemmed. Her giving us time to think about the different options ( Spanx, my daughter losing weight - very good confidence builder to attack an already stressed bride or her redesigning the back) between a total of four face to face appointments with her and my daughter deciding she wanted the dress left in the original design. We met with her October 2nd, still not completely satisfied with the way the dress was fitting we purchased an additional undergarment and met again at my daughter's home the next evening. Everything was set she assured us she would be able to finish the alterations and have the dress back to us on Oct 9th.... After hearing about her multiple life crises and excuses and sorrows of her life. We finally were able to retrieve the gown, which I referred to being held hostage on Thursday at 1:15 less than 32 hours before my daughter's walk down the aisle. It was a very TENSE meeting with her to say the least after being screamed at, cried too and hung up on during a phone conversation questioning what time we were going to retrieve the dress. Upon my questioning her on the amount of money we owed her response as she left my daughter's home was " NOTHING GIVE IT TO THE BRIDE " and she walked out the front door not accepting any payment! Now I have in the past maybe received a free meal due to a long wait time. Another example of an upgrade with a rental item due to the business making an error and not having the specific item I reserved but they held themselves accountable and took responsibility for their error. Her not accepting any payment I hope points out to those who read this review her acknowledgement of her business practices. I beg any brides and their mothers going through what should be a beautiful experience do their research with dress shopping and certainly even more important with the seamstress doing alterations. We again read the reviews and she even gave excuses for the bad reviews but with our inexperience and penny pinching with all the cost of a wedding we still went with her and that was the worst process of the wedding. I want to finally add that since my daughter's wedding day has came and gone I now also realize it was my daughter and her beauty that made the day a beautiful day.
BEWARE!! This is the most unprofessional sewing shop in Lafayette. Took a $300 bridesmaid dress in to be hemmed & taken in around the chest. The dress was supposed to be done the Tuesday before the wedding (wedding was that Saturday). Got the dress back Thursday night-after another bridesmaid asked about the dresses- SMELLING LIKE SMOKE! The hem was awful & ended up coming apart during the wedding. After being upset about the dress all weekend, I left a review on her Facebook page only to receive a nasty voicemail about how it was my fault that I paid so much for a bridesmaid dress. She continued to tell me that I was lying & the dress was perfect. She charged $60 for terrible work! I do not recommend this shop.
TNT drycleaners had a quick turnaround time and reasonable prices for laundering business shirts. I brought in several shirts to be laundered, pressed and lightly starched. The ladies working were pleasant and social. Everything seemed perfect until I unbagged my shirts at home. 30-40% of each shirt had wrinkles, the yoke(upper back part of shirt), cuffs, and sleeves were wrinkled and looked unpressed. Other random areas of the shirts had visible wrinkles as well. I could have done a better job at home. It appears that the people pressing the shirts did a rush job. Perhaps, the "Help Wanted" sign in the window should have tipped me off. Unfortunately, I won't be using their services again. If you are in a pinch and don't have time to launder and press your shirts at home, then I would recommend them. However, be prepared to wear shirts with C- quality pressing and wrinkles. I am not hard to please but found it disappointing after paying for a service that doesn't deliver.
