After moving out of my unit on Sept 3rd I noted an autopay debit on my account. I called as soon as I noticed this (9/5/17) which was the first business day after Labor Day. I apologized for being late about the notice, but mentioned the $170 debit and asked for a prorated refund for the remainder of the month. I was told this was not possible. I was told that the district manager would not approve of this, but Toni (the manager) would try. She said this has come up before, but without a 10 day written notice there was nothing they could do. I told her that we could go ahead and count from that day (the 5th) and assume the 10 day notice from that dayy and refund me the remainder of the month from the 15th on and I would accept that. I was again told that was not possible. I was however able to pay (late as I did not have autopay setup on it) for another storage unit that I had with them at that point on the phone and she in fact prorated it to $25 due for the first 7 days of the month. After our conversation I later found out that my wife called the local facility the previous month and spoke with a gentleman who when asked about the 10 day notice responded with explaining that as long as you're out within the first 10 days of the month you will receive the prorated amount due. I spoke with him as well as I cleared out our second unit (the one they decided was ok to prorate wihtout a 10 day notice) and he sung the same tune and said they would most likely be taking care of me and I would probably see a refund soon. As of 9/13 I have not been taken care of and in fact received another call from Toni informing me that her district manager is again refusing me. I have again called their corperate office and they are supposed to be esculating it. This is NOT the way a company should handle their good paying customers. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS, they have taken $170 from me without providing a service and refuse to work with me on any level.
I got the smallest unit, and it was the cheapest I could find in town. The building was within walking distance from my apartment so it was very convenient. The Lady that worked the office was very nice and accommodating. I was late with one payment but the late fee seemed reasonable and everything got taken care of in a timely manner. My only complaint is that the hours changed. The office closed at 1pm, which was a little inconvenient, but still worked for me. These hours may be temporary or subject to change though.Overall, I found the experience excellent.
