My new husband and I went to several bakeries in Albuquerque in search of a cake for our wedding. We started in January, so that the bakery wouldn’t be rushed for our June wedding. We met with Jessica, the baker and daughter of the owner of Swiss Alps in early February. It was a bit of a red flag when she told us that she did not do contracts; however, because she agreed to write one, we agreed that this was the place for us. We told Jessica what we wanted, since we had already done several tastings at other places, we had the flavors picked out. The sample we were given was perfect, and we were very excited. She did not have the contract ready in the time she told us she would; however; because it was around Valentine’s Day, we knew she was busy and gave her the benefit of the doubt. When she finally completed the contract, we had more than a few wedding preparations on our mind. My then fiancée quickly scanned and signed it, assuming that she was going to deliver on what we had agreed to. We had gone over her notes, which were exactly right. The actual cake we got on the big day was beautiful. It had a good flavor, but was overly sweet, because she left out the middle layer of bitter fudge to tone it down. It was a mistake, and mistakes do happen. What has infuriated me was that when my husband took the supplies back to her, he told her that the cake wasn’t correct. He wasn’t angry, looking for a refund, or another cake (the wedding is over, it’s too late). He just wanted her to acknowledge the mistake. Instead, she immediately became defensive, and made it his fault for not reading the contract. Yes, we made a mistake in assuming she knew what she was doing. This, I do admit to. Unfortunately, the unprofessionalism in refusing to apologize is inexcusable. If you are looking for the perfect cake for your special occasion, I highly recommend finding a baker with the maturity and professionalism that we did not find with Jessica at Swiss Alps Bakery.
I needed 120 dozen cookies for some clients of mine! A friend of mine told me about the "Best Kept Secret in Albuqueruqe," ABC Cake Shop, she gave me their number (she actually had it on speed dial in her phone!) She had told me that she got her wedding cake, birthday cakes, graduation cakes and all of her holiday pies from ABC so she knew the cookies would be good. So I called and of course they could fill the order by my requested date! Not only did they surprise me with the ability to make 120 dozen cookies in short notice, but the cookies were amazing as well! I had to sample some myself of course! Nollie was the gentleman that waited on me and he was soooooo helpful! I now have "The Best Kept Secret" on my speed dial as well! 505-255-5080 just in case anyone wants to add it to their speed dial! You won't regret it!
Very poor service. Employees weren't ready to service customers on 6 March at 10:00am when they are suppose to be open at 7:00am. My wife and I arrived at 10:05am. We ordered a hot sandwich and they informed us that they couldn't service hot sandwiches because the lady that is suppose to turn on the pannini machine arrived at 9:00am and the machine had just been turned on and it would take an hour to heat up the grill. Not only did the person in charge of the pannini grill didn't do her job turning it on upon arriving. But the other employee who arrived early who knew that it takes an hour to get the grill hot didn't take the initiative to turn it on. Based on their attitudes I don't think they were the owners. I'm writing this review so that the owners are aware of how their business being ran.
Out of this world customer service! These people are here for you. Knowledgeable staff and an awesome assortment of merchandise make this store more than a uniform shop, its like a mini sportsmans warehouse with the option to special order within the companies that they offer. Guile suits, tactical vests, med kits, packs, BDU's, camping gear, safety footwear, military boots, work clothes, Chuck Taylor's, Fila's, and when I got boots they even gave me 20% off, a free 3 pack of socks and a free pocket knife! Best store ever!
I LOVE the prices on all their accessories clothes etc, the only thing I don't like is on the clothing, it's a knock off of the original brand therefore if the sewing is wrong Fallas has it, if the zipper on sumthng is put on opposite side Fallas has it. Other than that it's a GREAT store.
I'm attending medical school here at UNM, I'm from Albany, NY. Where asking people where is a great local bakery, everyone referred me to ABC cake shop. I could not be happy. Fresh baked, and that buttercream frosting is to die for. I only hope I do my residency here in Albuquerque.
When you can't bake yourself, or jsut don't want to, this is the place to go. Their quality is exceptional and the prices rival every other place I've found in town. Need a quick sugar fix? The chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin cookies will blow you away.
I love this clothing store! Every time I go in I spend more then $150 because their clothes and shoes are so cute!! I've gotten earrings and wallets and pretty much everything in one store! Thanks for the great customer service as well!
Great pancakes, delicious muffins in many, many choices of flavors, and the sandwiches and soups are what I am craving now. I think the soups are all home made, not from a can. You can taste the love.
They make the most beautiful and melt-in-your-mouth delicious cupcakes EVER! Rather than serve a traditional birthday cake I made a platter of assorted cupcakes... It was a memorable, delicious hit!
