I started dancing with Ms. Jennifer at local community classes and continued to dance in her studio till I was in 7th grade.
Though her teaching styles weren't particularly great (she taught by showing the moves with her hands), I can't say I didn't learn anything from her. I ended up making my high school's dance team and was an officer for 2 of the 4 years I was on the team.
Adagio was always about having fun with my friends and the awesome homemade costumes made my Ms. Jennifer's mom, but if you are SERIOUS ABOUT DANCE, you might want to consider another studio (nothing personal). I had enjoyed my time there, but once I made my high school's team, I switched studio and excelled in a rapid pace.
This is honestly a studio about people who are just looking for an extracurricular activity to do, but not to pursue it as a passion. Not sure if things have changed since I've left (which has been over 7 years), but I'm sure its still quite similar.
Hope this helps you out on your decisions. Great studio space, awesome costumes, make new friends, do it for fun and not for a career attitude, and you will enjoy this studio.

I have had my daughter start out at this dance school per a recommendation from a friend. I had been forewarned about the craziness that happens at times. I didn't think the class where great, but had nothing to compare with. Since the times of the classes were really inconvenient for us I had looked for a different studio (boy, and what a difference!!!). For the monthly tuition I had accidentally paid 2x. We had left Adagio shortly after and about 3 months later I am still running after the refund for 1 month tuition. I am not holding my breath I will ever see it, but just a warning to everyone. They are very quick to charge late fees (no mercy there) but Ms. Jennifer does not even have the decency to refund any over payments. Shame on you Ms. Jennifer

My daughter went there 4 years and learned absolutely nothing. Which is why I pulled her out and is now getting the training she needs to learn ballet. The teacher/owner has not had the proper dance training herself. Which is known by the way she teaches. It's a very unorganized studio. Recital is a mess every year. And she cries every year as if everyone should feel sorry for poor Miss Jennifer and her unorganized mess. Buying tickets for the recital is a disaster every year too. If you watch the so called advanced classes you can see these poor girls are being taught all wrong. It's so sad to watch. This is the type of training that the judges on the TV show ""So you can think you can dance"" would tell a dancer that tried out on the show that you should get your money back and laugh at the dancer. SAD SAD SAD I tell you.
You get what you pay for!!

I just stopped by to write a small review about how great Adagio dance is. Normally I don't get involved in people's business, but I have to address the review posted by ""momofstar"". I have had my daughter at Adagio dance for 5 years now and she absolutely adores the instructor Miss Jennifer. I am what could be called an ""over protective father"", and trust me, if there were any yelling and berating of any kind my daughter would be gone in an instant. There is nothing of the sort. Miss Jennifer is a kind, loving and caring teacher who has a genuine care for her students and desire for them to succeed. I have a feeling that ""momofstar"" either had a daughter who wasn't as good as she and her daughter would like to believe, or ""momofstar"" is actually said child masquerading as an angry parent. Let's be honest, who is going to give that comment any validity when the commenter cannot even spell ""fortunately"" properly, does not know the difference between ""their"" and ""there"" and clearly has no grasp for even the most rudimentary aspects of grammar and punctuation. That review was clearly posted by a child, or a moron....or both. Adagio Dance is spectacular, just ask the other 400+ students and parents who are completely happy!
Isn't it interesting that people will be bold enough to crucify a business that someone has put their heart and sole into to be the best they can be, but too chicken to reveal their identity????? Maybe you should be more interested in being a positive role model for your child instead of allowing them to see, and I'm sure, hear you, tear up others. Adagio dance is a very positive studio. I should know, my daughter has been to some REAL awful ones. She is getting better training here than anywhere she has ever been. Because she isn't an outstanding student, she was always put in back and told she would ""get it"" . She didn't, and no one tried to help her. Unlike this chicken in the previous letter, I do not wish to name names. But, my experience has been, that if your child is not a prodigy, don't expect them to learn anything. At Adagio, my daughter is finally improving. She has been there for 2 years, and her last recital showed amazing progress. Miss Jennifer takes extra care to make sure every child ""gets it"". She teaches technique, which seems to be a foreign word at most studios. Who ever you are, you shouldn't condemn other people for their emotions. You would cry too if you lost the most important person in your life. I hope you go to another studio, she'll find out how much attention and training her daughter was really getting!!!!
My daughter has been going to this class for about ten months & in this time she has loved every thing about it. She loves the instructor and has learned a lot from her. This woman gives each & every student equal attention and has at least two other girls helping as well. I have attended every class & never have I seen any yelling or wrong doings as I read in one of the other reviews! ""I believe this the last review to be from a jealous woman who possibly caught her husband watching their daughters class-""or the instructor""- (a little too closely) for the wrong reason & out of vindictiveness and jealousy, wrote this bad review & false accusations, or perhaps ""it is the attempt to cut down some of the competition from another studio. Either way, the statements are false and misleading to say the least! All the girls are happy to arrive & play together with toys provided by the studio while they wait for their class, then run in as soon as the class ending is over. They all run to the instructor, (Miss. Jennifer) and all seem happy & eager to begin! This studio has an atmosphere of a large family, as the parents are all friends & some of us get together to allow our girls to play, as they have become friends. Miss. Jennifer is really into working with these children and the efforts she puts into everything is easily noticed upon attending one of her classes. The classes are ""on average"" an hour or so long and are usually part ballet, part tap. At the end of each class, the girls line up and Miss Jennifer says good night to each student & they all exit with smiles. She even does a little something special for each child on or near their birthdays & parties on certain holidays! In my opinion, it is a great place to have your child enrolled & has a professional & friendly environment. The cost for an entire month is less than taking the family out to a movie! If you like spending time with your children & participate in their activities, this is the place to take them!

Please, if you love your child don't place them in the hands of this supposed dance instructor for even 30 min.. I have never seen anything more unprofessional in my life. The way this women yells at the kids and most especially her mother infront of anyone and everyone is pathetic. I made the mistake of allowing my kids to enroll there. They didn't learn very much and were treated horribly. When I witnessed girls crying after ""Ms. Jennifer"" put them down for what she called ""unperfection"" was the last straw. I have fortunatly found another studio where my girls are actually learning the art of dance. Not until you put your child somewhere else do you really understand the amount of money and time that were wasted at this so called dance studio. What my girls learned at Adagio is equivalent to what girls half there age are learning at other studios. I've ran into lot's of other mother's that made the same mistake that I did and now have their kids in a different studio and the talk around town is all the same about the Adagio studio. Quite frankly I think that Adagio Dance should be put out of business.

My girls go to Adagio Dance and they love it. They have a great time, and the teacher is fantastic. She is very patient and caring towards the children and creates a positive environment for them to learn and have fun. The studio itself is very clean and nice. They also offer their own line of really cute dancewear. I would reccomend Adagio to anyone with children who want to learn how to dance!
