Overall
I used this company to repair ...

I used this company to repair a botched furniture repair done by another company. The person that repaired my furniture did a top notch job and was very professional. The business owner.....not so much.

Two things happened: 1) The owner wouldn't allow the furniture repairer to testify in my legal case against the people that did the original botched job (Furniture Physicians), and 2) After I later moved and wanted to hire them to do another repair, They wanted to charge a $300 out-of-market differential fee per visit.

I can sort of understand not wanting to be involved in the legal case. However, the $300 fee per visit was a bogus charge in light of the distance only being 60 miles AND I had over $6000 worth of damage, making it very worth their while to accept the assignment. I had also plugged their business and previously left good reviews for them. Considering all of this, my business apparently wasn't appreciated.

>>>>>Response received from business owner:

Customer satisfaction is extremely important to me. I have not been in business for over 36 years taking this for granted. I'm sorry for this customer's impression ,however, we did explain we don't service the Dayton area but were willing to travel there for an additional fee only changing the amount when we learned of the correct location. It is expensive for us to travel out of town and we provided a reference of someone in the area to provide the same service without travel charges. I am not comfortable getting involved in someone's lawsuit. It's easy to criticize someone else's work after the fact not knowing what they started with. I was pleased that we could repair everything to this customer's satisfaction. It appears the only issue he has with us is that we charge a fee to go outside our normal service area and don't want to be involved with his lawsuit. Steve Coup

My response to that:

It's rather amusing that the owner says customer satisfaction is important to him considering this scathing response that puts the problem back on me. Additionally, some of his assertions are not fact. However, this very unprofessional and extremely tacky response stands on its own and speaks for itself. So, I don't think I need to clarify further.

Overall

Coup Restorations did a great job in repairing the top of a cedar chest in our home. It was easy to schedule the repair time. The owner understood what was needed for the repair. The technician expertly filled and designed the repair so that it is nearly impossible to find where the work was done! I would highly recommend this company for furniture repair!
