I went to tennova ER for a re-injury of a sprained rib. They denied me pain medication even though I could barely walk and was in excruciating pain. The nurse said it was because I am a recovering drug addict and I shouldn't take narcotics. I told the nurse there are certain circumstances when its okay for a recovering addict to take pain mediction. The nurse agreed with me but said this is not one of those circumstances. I told him i belived it was and ge said, "Well your not a doctor." Seriously??? I was in shock. Tennova ER would not of known I was an addict if I had not offered that information, nor do I have a criminal record. I offered that information and had no idea it would be used against me. I had no idea an ER visit could turn into me leaving there crying, still in horrible pain, and feeling degraded as human being. Thanks Tennova ER! JK go f yourselves.
One of the worst hospitals in Knoxville. The service from the start was crappy the lazy cow that checked me in tried passing me off to the queen next to her but that didn't happen when she finally got to me she had the personality of a wet mop i waited two hrs in pain with pneumonia i finally left went to park west and was seen in 10 min i will never come back here again.
One of the Very worst hospitals I have Ever been to! Very very poor service from the beginning. Was told by a volunteer that she would let someone in preop know we were there for our surgery...she forgot. We sat there for 35 minutes before someone Finally showed up. While patient was having surgery, went downstairs to their "cafeteria" for some breakfast. Tasted like cardboard! Threw half of the "breakfast" away. Noticed when we took the elevator back upstairs, the Entire ceiling was missing, except for one light bulb and a exhaust fan. When the patient came out of surgery, we did speak with the Dr (this was good). The patient then was taken to post opp, this also was ok but the nurses are Way overworked! It was around noon, what appeared to be One nurse doing the work...saw a few walking around but that was about it. Was informed, one of the nurses had gone to lunch...how about it looked like the Entire staff had gone to lunch! As as I said, one nurse (Zurlene) took charge of what was going on, but she was taking care of 4 patients And the phone as well! She was the only good thing. Happy to be out of there! Will take Parkwest Anyday!! No idea what happened, from what I read this was a good hospital. Hopefully will Never have to return to this place again!
