Richard M Barbee DDS MS - New Dentistry

This is a beautiful office, but more impressive was the staff and Dr. Barbee. They were so kind and patient. Dr. Barbee was very thorough in his initial exam and I didn't feel like another number in the chair. He and his assistant were efficient, gentle and made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend.

I recently went to Dr. Barbee's office over the course of three visits. My first impressions were very favorable. However, when I began to ask questions to better understand my situation, Dr. Barbee was condescending and rude. Instead of answering my questions, he said things such as "What, did you see that on the internet?" "This isn't for laymen." "This is above your pay scale." "I think I know more about this than you." These are exact quotes. I guess that Dr. Barbee saw my questions as challenging his authority. I was not challenging his authority, however, I was just trying to learn and understand.



If you only need minor work done on your mouth, Dr. Barbee would probably be a great choice. However, if you have a lot of work that needs done, want to be involved in your dental strategy, or want a dentist that will take time to answer more involved questions, do not go to Dr. Barbee. His staff is very pleasant, but the dentist is the most critical player of all.



I tried to write a review on his website, but it never was posted. Additionally, the only 1-star review that was posted on his website was removed a couple of days later. Dr. Barbee boasts about having Google-certified reviews, but his numbers are bogus. The existing reviews may be legitimate, but the statistics are terribly misleading. Dr. Barbee purges his site of all bad reviews, deceiving the public.



After the Dr. Barbee's pompous, condescending treatment toward me and his deceptive ratings, I cannot recommend his office. I hope that this review, posted on a site outside of Dr. Barbee's control, will have a public appearance.

After making the appt & driving over 2 hours I was told sorry cant help you until 2 weeks away. The 1st visit is just 2 get information which we could have done on the phone. Asked for help with the pain & was told a flat out NO. This was a waste of time, money & gas. Then they wouldnt offer no alternate solution. They were rude, racist, and very unprofessional. I'll never rcommend & will tell others 2 advoid.

I HATE going to the dentist - always have. I think my dislike began as a child whose dentist kept veterinary pliers laying on the counter top ...



When I was referred to Dr. Barbee I told him that I wasn't going to like his office, his office staff or him. He said, "I've heard all that before. We'll see."



A decade later I'm still going! And, while I don't exactly 'look forward' to those trips, I do go without hesitation!



The office environment is welcoming, the staff is warm and the services are first rate! Professional all the way! The only place I'll get a crown done.



Remember your mentors saying "do it right the first time and you won't have to tear it apart to fix it again." Well, you can count on that with Dr. Barbee!

Dr.Barbee is so kind and patient. I had a big dental phobia until I went to his office. His office staff is great also!
