Visited the pitiful establishment, would not call it a restaurant, on Monday with my best friend from Kentucky. We were both wearing lightweight jackets. I am a disabled man and have a serious medical condition that causes me to overheat in a dangerous way. It was very warm inside and we ordered food and drinks. I removed my jacket as I was starting to overheat. I was wearing a sleeveless shirt as I do all winter long. this helps me from overheating. Approximately five minutes later, a very rude shift manager came over and told me to put my jacket back on. I refused and informed him that it was hot inside and was going to explain my medical condition when he asked if I had a shirt to put on. I informed him that I did not. He then told us to leave. I have visited the place on two other occasions and have noticed that the female patrons can wear sleeveless clothing and dress very provocatively. I have never seen them be asked to leave. I immediately informed the waitress/bartender to cancel our order for the food. She informed me that they were going to box it up for us to take it to go. I then informed her that if I wanted food to go, I would have gone to a drive through and I was not spending one more penny of money in this establishment. While paying for our drinks, the shift manager sat at a table and started constantly at us as if he were trying to intimidate us so I stood there and stared back at him. If this is the best they can do for a manager, this place hopefully will close very soon. I have called and asked to speak to the owner but he does not have the decency to return my call. If the manager had come to me and explained their pitiful dress code and informed me that they value our business, as a real manager would, and asked that I wear a t-shirt with approximately three inches more material,on it next time i visited, I might have given it another try. Instead, we were thrown out and I will never return. Since this incident, I have learned from numerous friends that this is a drug infested establishment and it is a dump. On our way out, I did notice several pieces of paper taped all over the front with some sort of policies written on them. This is not someplace you want to visit unless you are looking for drugs, to get drunk or to be treated as I was. It is also my understanding that the owner has had other establishments that he has closed down because of the way the patrons have been treated. Stay away from the place.
Where do I begin! After waiting over an hour for our meal, it came back so very wrong, not even close to what was ordered! Even the next 2 feeble attempts from, a seemingly doped up waitress, they were wrong too! Then we where charged $12 for a handful of shredded lettuce and a spoonful of chicken broth! What a joke to call this place a restaurant!
My husband and I ate at Itchiban last night with another couple who are the pickiest people on this earth. The other couple has eaten at Itchiban 3 times before and loves it. The decor is delightful, the service was WAY above average, the food was good and they even comped us a wonderful dessert because our friends were recognized. I WILL go back!
Worst Service EVER! First we tried to call to order takeout, but got an answering machine. We then tried online (because the menu said you could order online) and it said "Page Coming Soon". So we went to the restaurant. I stood in front of the girl at the counter for over 5 minutes and she refused to even look at me, much less offer a "be right with you" comment. I finally turned around and left. We went to our usual asian restaurant, which is a drive, but at least we get food and decent service. We were in hopes that we would like the place since it is so close, but that's not happenin'. We will NEVER bother them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it were possible to give them NEGATIVE STARS, I would!!!!!!!!!
Ill never vist this place again. My girl friend and I were visited there one night. Before leaving the parking lot, there " security " people walk up to our vehical while we were makeing out. They had there hands against the tinted window in order to watch us kissing. We were instructed that we could nit be doing that in that parking lot , and we were told to leave. As we were trying to leave , one of their one of the two jerks tried breaking out my drivers window. I know they were drunk. We finally got out of that parking lot and away from those idiots. We will Never return back there.
Great food and great service.
Do not go there. I have seen the way the staff is treated. I am so tired of going in there and the way they talk to their female employees is terrible. Makes me think I am in china or japan. One male server named Roy is the worst. I would hate to be his wife. I run my own business and would die If my employees were treated this way. But management or ownership is just as bad. They belittle and talk down to the female servers like they are stupid. Wake up owners of Asia this is America treat our women with respect. You are losing business like this. I plan on telling everyone about this place and how rude you all are. I am surprised you haven't been sued or this treatment.
I was skeptical but the first time I tried it I fell in love with the food and very friendly staff. If you want an explosion of flavor eat here. Dynamite shrimp for starters
This is not a post written out of haste or anger. I gave this particular establishment four different opportunities to retain my business. The menu: The menu is large and varied. I have only sampled a small portion of what is offered so I cannot comment of most of their items. The sushi rolls are enormous (not in a good way). The pieces are extremely large and unevenly cut. The size of each role makes it difficult and messy to eat. The sushi tastes decent though. I have also ordered chicken and shrimp hibachi. The meet was cooked well, but the vegetables were very scarce. I received two carrot slices, one piece of broccoli, and no mushrooms. The staff:In my 4 ventures to Asia Cafe I had adequate service once. On my first venture my father and I both ordered a sushi role. My role came out 30 minutes before my father's, so he had to watch me eat and then I him. It took almost 70 minutes to get both rolls to the table.I ordered Asia Cafe online as well. I chose two items online (one $7.98 and one $8.98). The website indicated my food would be ready in 20 minutes. To allow for human error I allowed 30 minutes to pass before arriving. When asked to pay my bill was higher than indicated online ($10.98 instead of $8.98). The online prices are apparently not accurate with actual store prices. I informed the girl at the counter and her response was, "It's not really a big deal. You get a discount on Tuesdays anyways." Two dollars isn't much, and I didn't really care. It was the servers attitude the irked me. Anyways, I paid. The server then informed me that my rolls were not yet ready (15 minutes late already). I then proceeded to wait another 40 minutes for my rolls (I waited because I had already paid, and I was curious just how long it was going to take).I swore I would not go back, but my relatives wanted to try it one more time. My father-in-law and I both ordered hibachi (which comes with soup, salad, and the entree according to the menu). After 30 minutes we asked the waiter for our soup because he had not yet brought it. It was decent soup. The entree came less than 2 minutes after the soup arrived. The salad was never brought. We inquired about the salad, and the server paused, almost admitted his error, then proceeded to tell us hibachi doesn't come with a salad. I stopped the next server to walk by and asked about the menu. He informed us the hibachi is indeed supposed to come with a salad. Our server returned right as we started our entrees and asked if we saved room for desert (even thought we just begun eating). My father-in-law responded, "No, I saved room for that salad you never brought." We then finished our meal and requested the check. The server brought the check and two salads (after we had finished our dinner). He never apologized or admitted his error (I'll forgive just about any error in food service is people take responsibility).Basically, the food is not bad, but the service is inexcusable. They are not rude, just terribly incompetent. I was amazed because I read all the online reviews before going. I gave them 4 chances, because I was determined to get the positive experience so many others have described.
