Spent 30 mins get a recording make my selection all repair busy phone would ring go back to the recording then It just hangs up

I am very disappointed in Rapco after my most recent purchase with them. I have used them exclusively for the past 5 years to repair my a/c units.

This year my condenser fan motor went and so I went to Rapco to purchase a new one. I have always trusted them to sell me what I need as I'm a female on s budget with very little HVAC knowledge. They informed me that I needed a capacitor in addition to the fam motor because I needed to replace it when I replaced the fan motor. I purchased both parts from them seeing as I figured if I ended up not needing the part I could always return it if I didn't use it.

My husband began the task of installing the fan motor on his day off but when he took the old fan motor out of the unit he compared side by side the new generic motor I purchased from Rapco and realized that the shaft on the generic part from Rapco was too long to fit without cutting it. The arm could be cut but we decided that purchasing the exact same replacement part as opposed to using the generic part from Rapco (that we would need to cut the shaft), would be better in our circumstance.

I went back to the store to process the return on the fan motor, but to my surprise the attendant refused to return my unused item. He claimed that the part had been installed and therefore could not be returned. I politely disagreed and informed him that the part had never been placed inside the unit. We knew immediately after opening the box that the generic unit from Rapco was too long and we would not be able to use it. We decided to return the part to Rapco to get the 1:1 replacement.

The employee pointed to a scuff on the motor's shaft and claimed that because of the scuff, the part had been installed and therefore could not be refunded. I then showed him the wired which had not been bent or used. If they had been bent it would have proved that the part was installed/used but they had not been bent,cut or showed any signs of wear because it had never been used.

I am very upset Rapco refused to honor the return. I am a loyal customer and on top of that I have always thought if I had a job to do to buy all the parts I thought I might need for the job because even if I ended up not using some of them, the unused ones could be returned. This is not the case as Rapco refused to honor a return on an unused item.

If you are thinking about buying a part from them to do the job yourself, be sure you 100% need the part and it is 100% the part that you need because a return on an unused part is not guaranteed.

As other reviewers have said. Beware. Do yourself a favor and go through a company that honors returns on unused merchandise.

I found out the hard way that this company sells A/C units to non-licensed contractors. They promise you warranty on the parts and when you need it, they have the nerve to say they don't handle that and refer you straight to the manufacturer who refers you back to them. They are deceptive all around and need to be shut down.

Purchased a timer for my pool pump. Went to install it and found the clock motor not to be functioning. Called the company and was told that I was out of luck since there are no refunds or exchanges on anything electrical. Be careful, do not buy anything electrical from them. They could be selling damaged goods. The personnel were arrogant and condescending. BEWARE

My house seems to be where appliances come to die, but these guys are great and have saved me so much money!! They are always helpful and courteous and never try to sell me something I dont need. They listen to the problem and help me out. These guys are great and I will be back, and I have referred some friends to them as well!
