Fibromyalgia
It has been well documented that there is now an epidemic increase in the symptomatic syndromes the medical community recognizes as chronic “symptomatic” syndromes. These chronic nerve based syndromes can include diagnoses of Fibromyalgia, Migraine, headaches, Neuralgias, Radiculopathies, Neuropathies, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Dysautonomias, and Chronic Pain Syndromes. This disturbing rise in prevalence also accompanies a generalized increase in the number of neurological disorders in the general population. Unfortunately, as with many neurological diseases of unknown origin, the environment of poorly coordinated care between medical professionals have left patients in the state of relative confusion and frustration.
Pediatric Care
L.P.N. - Shelley became a part of the NeuroSensory Team in November of 2020. She graduated with honors from the Wilkes-Barre Area Career and Technical School of Nursing. She has learned to prioritize the needs of patients in a wide range of health care settings and has participated in evidence based programs that encourage safe and competent nursing practices. She has also performed a wide array of clinical duties while developing a strong foundation for patient care along with the communication skills necessary to gain patient confidence and trust. She is cross- trained in all areas of the center and is certified by the NeuroSensory Centers of America in the use of the Sensory View Diagnostic System. She is also trained in Vision Therapy along with being a certified provider of Interactive Metronome for pediatrics and adults. She continues self-education certifications related to both therapies. Her goal at the NeuroSensory Center is to always assist patients in leading comfortable and healthy lives. In her free time, Shelley enjoys camping and spending time with her family.

The NeuroSensory Center of Eastern Pennsylvania is a one-stop facility that provides painless, non-invasive testing and treatment of neurosensory disorders such as dizziness, imbalance, vertigo, chronic headaches/migraines, post-concussion syndrome, whiplash concussion, as well as attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autistic spectrum disorders and sensory processing disorder.

Eczema
Sensitivity to foods is an abnormal response to a food component triggered by the immune system in the form of immunoglobulin, (IgG), representing a delayed type hypersensitivity reaction. Food hypersensitivity may be caused by many factors such as stress, infection, overeating, artificial preservatives, additives, fungicides, molds, pesticides, antibiotics, and environmental pollutants. Among the many organs involved, the skin, gut, and respiratory tract are most affected by food hypersensitivity reactions. Food hypersensitivity contributes to many health problems and complaints, some of which include fatigue, migraine headaches, abdominal pain, asthma, irritable bowel, eczema, rashes, and anxiety. Identifying and avoiding foods to which a person is sensitive can solve many of these problems.
Lesions
Improvement does not depend on how long ago their vision loss occurred (Efficacy is independent of lesion age). VRT is designed to strengthen the visual information processing of residual neuronal structures that have survived following acute lesions of the nervous system resulting from trauma, stroke, inflammation, or elective surgery for removal of brain tumors. By repeated activation through the course of the therapy, patients use the program to train and improve their impaired visual functions, and thus regain useful vision in the area of the visual field deficit. VRT is performed on a computer at home twice daily, six days a week for six months. During each session, patients focus on a central point displayed on the screen and respond every time they see light stimuli appear elsewhere on the screen. The light stimuli are typically presented along the border of the intact and damaged visual field. The therapy is monitored and updated monthly by NovaVision Clinical Staff as therapy progresses and vision is improved. VRT is provided by NovaVision in a therapy suite with its NeuroEyeCoach compensation therapy. VRT addresses the restoration of lost vision and NeuroEyeCoach addresses patients’ difficulties with eye movements and their ability to integrate visual information. While VRT helps to recover visual functions and enlarge the visual field, NeuroEyeCoach enables the patient to make the most of their remaining vision; the two therapies therefore complement each other and are provided in one therapy suite to maximize patient benefit.
