The associate who tried to assist us was named Cody. He was obviously new and tried to tell me that I wasn't elligble for an upgrade when I could clearly see it on my phone from their site. He seemed very uneducated and unwilling to provide service, having to ask his superiors several questions he didn't have answers for. Needless to say, this experience was plenty to make my family reconsider doing any business at this store. The associates I've worked with before with upgrades and insurance issues resolved them quickly and in a timely manner. This guy was a joke.

My husband and I decided to go to Verizon and do a contract, as opposed to pre-paid. We went to their location in Kingsport Town Center and they were very nice and helpful. UNFORTUNATELY, there was a mixup and they put my husband and I on 2 separate accounts, which overcharged us on our first bill. After customer service (the 1-800 number) finally fixed it, we realized a few days later that we didn't have the data plan we were told by the store that we'd have. They told us 1gig would be shared and it was $20. We thought "hey that's 500mb each, that's fine." -turns out, they signed us up for 500mb to share at $20 a month. I call the store and tell them about the mixup, as I wouldn't have even got the contract if I'd known we would have shared so little data, 500mb to share isn't much! Honestly, I didn't even know how all that worked until they said 500mb each is 1gig. Anyways, they told me their was nothing they could do and acted like I made the whole thing up. I know mistakes happen, but I also know that big companies like this could at least make it right or apologize. Just be careful that you don't get misinformed!
I recently went to this store to buy an ipad. I walked into the store and noticed all the employees were busy with customers, so I waited by the ipads for assistance. While I was standing there waiting, the employees noticed I was there. I thought this meant I would be helped when they were done with their customers but I was wrong. I waited there for 30mins and not one employee asked if I needed any help. During the 30mins of me standing there, at least 5 people walked through the door and they were all helped. However I was just skipped. I decided to leave and go to the best buy in the same plaza for an ipad. There I was helped with in 5mins with no problems. I wouldn't recommend the Verizon store to anyone. The employees there obviously don't realize they are in the customer business. I would highly recommend the best buy in the same plaza and not to waist your time with the Verizon store.
